I don't exactly have the cash to go ahead and get a checkup but if its seriuous then i know i have to. I have had a cough for about two weeks and it feels like it is only getting worse. It's only a cough nothing else (no fever, runny nose, etc.) just wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions as to what i should do, Thanks for any help!

It is difficult to tell how serious your cough is from your question. I would need to know if it is a dry cough or is there phlegm production... colour of phlegm... whether you smoke cigarettes... how many sticks a day... anything that precipitates the cough... which part of the day is the cough worst... etc etc etc.

My advice is to see a doctor. Even if he says that it's nothing serious, I think it would be worth the money to put your mind at ease. And if there really is something, then you can go for further treatment.

All the best, dear.

I too had a bad cough once and waited like you. But when I coughed, I could tell I had crap in my lungs that didn't want to come out. So I did wind up going to the doctors. He told me to take Mucinex. (Don't know if I spelled that right) That stuff is Great! It took a couple of days to work, but once it started, I was MUCH better. It's kinda pricy. About 15 dollars I think. But, it is over the counter and you don't have to pay a doctor also. Get well.

If there is no fever and no other symptoms you probably just need a cough syrup. Look for the ingredient guifenesin, it loosens up everything in your chect and helps you clear it out.
If you get a fever though DEFINETLY go to the doctor.

Well actually i would advice you to go the pharmacy and tell the pharmacist your problem and also tell him that you cant go to the doc due to your financial status,Im sure he/she will understand you and might be even look unto your problem deeply and give you the best medicine.
But health is the most important thing one must consider against anything else, even if it be money, its always health first!!!
If its really serious then pay a visit to the doc.
GOOD LUCK

please make sure you get money to go and see the doctor ,because you wouldn't like to see yourself going six feet under .For this cough might even be serious which could lead to your grave.'for it is good to be a life and pay your debt than to be six feet under and not have life'.please borrow money from a friend to see one.
