The decision to close a school is taken by individual local education authorities. While it is not beyond the realms of possibility it is usually a last resort.

The schools stayed open in ALL weathers when I was a kid, so I don't see why it should be any different now. Also judging by the spelling I see nowadays, children need to go to school to learn how to spell. It's ridiculous the way schools close over slightest bit of bad weather, you can't take the day off work just because of the snow, so why school.

Why should the schools close-down, snow does not kill. Enjoy your school years while you can. It is not very nice working and having to be responsible. Enjoy your youth ok:)))

dream on sweetie,
when i was younger we had much worse snow than this and they made us go every single bloody day until the heating broke down!!
they had to let us stay at home as it was too cold to do any work but they got it fixed in a day so we had to go back. (boo)

It only depends on how bad the weather is, it won't close just because of snow, but if its really bad then it might.

send the kids and make them stay there. oh dear boo hoo a little bit of snow!! what a bunch of namb pamby over pampered soft kids that has been bred.

They only usually close if the heating is not working properly
