newborn merely on your backyard? Is the eyes open and ears open? or is it purely a kitten? If its a newborn like a million day old its crying reason its hungry and abandoned. Kittens are regularly born in a den and heat dark place, no longer the midsection of a backyard. mom the two have been given scared and dropped the kitten on a similar time as moving her clutter, or a predator accidently dropped it on a similar time as taking it off. i could take it to a preserve the place somebody can advance it and bottle feed it. Its calling out for its mom truly. If its a youthful kitten then its probably lost and searching for nutrition and preserve. Oh its interior the living house with you? are you bottle feeding it? a newborn has to consume each and every 3 hours, your no longer likely feeding it adequate. What are you feeding it.

Have had the honor of being affiliated with MANY cats over the years, and have found that, after every other consideration is discarded, some just like the sound of their own voice. Have had some that would stand at the top of the stairs going into the basement and just "holler" their heads off, some liked to "sing" in the bathtub or in the bathroom itself. One would walk down a certain hallway and "yell" at the top of his lungs, then become silent as soon as he turned the corner. Some even had special "hollers" for different places in and around the house, a brother & sister hollered in harmony whenever they got up under the house
(I kid you not, this is really true!!).

Some just like to hear their own voices, or the echo effects, or to exercise their lungs, or whatever!!

My cat is a year old, and still does this. She has a water bowl, but if i leave the bathroom door open she will come in and miaow in the bath or sink. She just prefers drinking running water; her mother was the same, i think it's just an animal thing.
She also quite like to chase spiders in the bottom of the bath!!

My cat used to do this too. I found out that after she'd used her litter tray once (with a wee or a poo) she wouldn't use it again so she used the bath as an alternative. As she got older she learnt to squat over the loo too!

I know some of you will be saying 'yuk' but the bath was easily cleaned up and bleached so I didn't have a problem with it. Better the bath than behind the settee or on the bed???

I have a cat Nutmeg who LOVES running water. Just a slow trickle from the taps. She is almost 4 now and has done that for a LONG LONG time now. She rarely drinks from the bowl. Also try buying one of those cat fountains that circulate the water. If you keep the taps running you are going to have a lot to pay in water bills. We lived in an apartment and it didn't cost us anything to do that for my Nutmeg.

She may like fresh running water . Some cats like to drink from the faucet. My cat likes the water fountain for cats that you fill with water and it trickles down a slide . They are available at most pet stores. Also, she may not like the kitty litter. Some cats will use the bath time as a place to "pee" if they do no like the cat litter. I would then suggest using a clumping FRAGRANCE FREE suck as Arm and Hammer cat litter. Hope that helps. Also, give her a nice Nook to let her cozy up in.

My cat sits in the bath (doesn't meow though), waiting for me to turn the tap on, as he only likes to drink fresh cold water straight from the tap. He won't lower himself to drink from his bowl, which also has fresh water in it. lol..

My cats love to sit in my bath tub and play. If she is not using the tub as a litter box, you could just put some of her toys in the tub for her so she can play in there (as long as you don't mind). If the cat uses the tub as a litter box you will have to clean and disinfect it thoroughly and consider changing litter brands or even the location of the litter box,
Good luck.

My cat does the same thing. He wants fresh water. I know you say your cat has fresh water, mine has filtered and circulated water. It's constantly fresh and clean, yet he wants the stuff from the sink or tub. Maybe it's a mineral thing.

Is she litter trained yet? She may really need the toilet but being so young she maybe confused on where to do her business. Aswell as water give her some cat milk as some kittens don't like water at a young age.
