When you marry someone you like it's obviously going to be someone you're attracted to. There is also no pressure there, and you don't have to worry about liking the person or not.(well at first anyways.) However studies do show that fixed marriages have a very low divorce rate.

Well, with a love-marriage, you get the benefit of marrying someone you love. However, there's no guarantee that you will stay in love.
I've known people with fixed marriages, and it seems as though they better understand "for better or worse." Like, they didn't have a choice but to get married, so they don't have a choice to end the marriage either. While many love-marriages will have one or both partners thinking "maybe I made the wrong choice," the fixed-marriage couples work through it. They also seem to respect each other more, and I have yet to encounter a couple in a fixed marriage who didn't end up loving each other.
Of course, I'm not saying that fixed marriages are the way to go. But they aren't as bad as a lot of people in Western culture think, especially when the couple does have some say in who they're being matched with.

Since fixed marriages are not based on love, you don't have to worry about wanting to leave when you don't "love" them anymore. Normally, fixed marriages are built on some form of respect, either through money or family values/history. They tend to have low divorce rates and tend to have a stronger foundation. With non-fixed marriages, if the love fades, the first thing a lot of people want to do is run. It's really something that you need to think about. Fixed marriages are harder to get out of because the family doesn't want it to come apart because they have stake in the marriage.

I believe in the concept of love. Not someone else picking who they think would be best for there daughter or son. I married my husband becuase I wanted to. It is not the guy my parents would have chosen for me. My mother and him don't even get along. But I know that i love him and he loves me. Being told you are marrying someone you may not know makes it hard to trust him or her. Trust is a big part of marriage.

I love the idea of free marriage, but I am alone. I have many friends, but no girlfriend. So at least with fixed, ones, I won't be alone so much
