I certainly wish there was some way to stop the constant ringing in your ears and mine. I have gone through a very thorough and lengthy evaluation by the VA to evaluate both my hearing lose and tinnitus. There is nothing and I mean nothing that can be done to stop that constant ringing.
I am slowly going deaf so I have special DVDs that I ordered from a company in Oklahoma and I am learning lip reading because the time will come when all I hear is the effects of tinnitus and nothing else.

Sorry, no cure. Have you tried a masker device? It's a small device that fits in your ear, emits a background noise which is supposed to train your ear to ignore the sounds tinnitus causes. I have tinnitus in one ear, so I really feel for you. I was also given some tapes to play when the noise got bad. One was a relaxation tape, where a woman with a really grating and anxious sounding voice, tells you to be calm ! The other was of lapping waves. That was relaxing and helped a little. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Try focusing on the noise for a few moments, instead of retreating from it.
