Some nights I have trouble even getting tired enough to attempt sleep. What sleep aids or nightly rituals help you fall asleep?

Bath before bed, read a book. Have a glass of wine. Have a little toke of weed :)....Um.......sleeping pills but I would choose that as a last resort...

When it happens, I guess the best thing is the doubling of your day. You are essentially getting extra time. Although I Love to sleep, it is a time-waster. Imagine how much more you could get done if it weren't a necessary function. Same with bathroom breaks, a time wasting necessity. Maybe you are the new breed of human, the kind that will evolve us to not need sleep a couple of generations from now. You may be changing history, mutating us beyond what was thought possible! Think about it! You are molding and creating the future of man!!!

i use a meditation/relaxation tape with a casette(can find tapes at pretty much any large bookstore, example Barnes and Noble) so i have on headphones.... blocks out the outside noise....also Klonopin which is presribed by my shrink because of my anxiety after I was attacked by a rottweiler...I tend to have nightmares...Klonopin was way better than Ambien... diazepam is an derritive of valuim right?? for animals ??if i am wrong let me know...warm bubble baths... turn the clock around so you cant see the time,,, turn off tv....light music in the background sometimes helps also...wine can be a stimulant...at least that is what my shrink says... for over the counter just get benedryl... thats the active ingredient in all those "PM" type drugs...save yourself some $$.....smile hope this helps

Well usually i think too much so i never get to sleep even when im very tired,
these days i read a magazine until i must close my eyes.

My teacher showed me a trick to become sleepy, wat you do is cover both eyes with ur hands so there is no light coming through but keep your eyes open, the for about 5 mins, u do eye excersises because your eyes need a rest and once u finish they become sleepy and hard to open, so basically u just cover ur eyes and look in all these weird directions and around in circles trying to strain them so it hurts a tiny bit, and just go in different directions. Then uncover your hands and vwalah u r sleepy.

Sometimes i try to imagine myself on a beach relaxing. but that thought changes... try the eye exercise tho:)

as per my experience, sleeping pills did not help any instead it worsen my situation then. I resorted to reading before going to sleep specially the bible. before you realize it, you are already asleep..other way is computing your expenses and incomes, tallying them, you will get tired of thinking and hooplahs you're sleeping already on the sofa.. take my advice.. once you've accustsomed to it you're next problem would be sleepishness.. just like me,,,

reading before bed usually makes me tired or take a nice hot shower right before you go to bed and take some sleeping pills.

Exercise. Exhaust yourself during the day. Meds are a bandaid.
