First of all you are stating your belief that Christianity is the true religion, then you ask pointedly about Islam, shows your obvious bias and leaning, thus not deserving a serious response. But, for the benefit of those who do not know and for you, had you investigated Islam a bit more, Islam does not start 1400 years ago, it starts with the arrival of Adam on Earth. Islam recognises Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jacob, Joseph, Jesus and others as prophets, ending with the arrival of Mohammed as the last prophet and the completion of religion and revelation. All came with the Word of God, to warn their people against wrong doings. Islam was revealed in stages. Each prophet adding something to what was revealed earlier or confirming what came before it. In short, Islam came in to its final shape 1400 years ago, not begun at that time.

042.013 The same religion has He established for you as that which He enjoined on Noah - the which We have sent by inspiration to thee - and that which We enjoined on Abraham, Moses, and Jesus: Namely, that ye should remain steadfast in religion, and make no divisions therein: to those who worship other things than Allah, hard is the (way) to which thou callest them. Allah chooses to Himself those whom He pleases, and guides to Himself those who turn (to Him).

016.123 So We have taught thee the inspired (Message), "Follow the ways of Abraham the True in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah."

022.078 And strive in His cause as ye ought to strive, (with sincerity and under discipline). He has chosen you, and has imposed no difficulties on you in religion; it is the cult of your father Abraham. It is He Who has named you Muslims, both before and in this (Revelation); that the Messenger may be a witness for you, and ye be witnesses for mankind! So establish regular Prayer, give regular Charity, and hold fast to Allah! He is your Protector - the Best to protect and the Best to help!

Timing has nothing to do with something being right or wrong. IT is Jesus Chist who is the way the truth and the life. Regardless of when He came in history. Many religions start up and then want people to believe that they originated from the Bible because of its ancient credibility. The Muslims teach that they are the originals even though they didn't come on the scene until the 600's. Catholics have rewritten their history to take the pope back to the Bible times, even though Catholics never had that idea until 100's of years after Christ. Pentacostals are only 100 years old but want people to believe that they started at Pentacost, so they give their denomination that title. Just trust Jesus Christ, and you have the real source right there.

Islam is a concept.

The concept of submission to GOD and no one but GOD.

This includes no prophets, no human born, nothing other than GOD.

As it is, the true religion of those who came before us, of the prophets before Muhammad, was FULL and complete submission to God only.

This has been outlined in the Quran.

And this has been outlined as the only way to God.

To worship no one but God. To accept His Unity, His Omnipotence and all of the characteristics He attributes Himself in the Quran.

As it is, God has allowed those who came after Jesus, to recognize Him through these 99 names.

Therefore, as Muslims, our salvation depends upon the knowledge of God to the full through those names, and our salvation does not depend on us seing those characteristics in a human like Christians do.

God send Jesus(p) with the Injeel(gospel) to the Jews. The gentiles is not involved with Jesus teaching.
But Jesus has promise that a comforter and spirit of truth will come.

Thus God send Muhammad(p) with the Qur'an not just to the Arabs but to all mankind as there wont be any more new revelation or new prophet after him.

Each religion is true to the believer of the religion. For Sikhs, their religion is the true religion. For Hindus, theirs is the true religion, and so on and so forth. There is no one "true" religion, as each person has their own beliefs. And I'm sure that religious people will argue against my statement that there is no one true religion, but that happens to be my belief.
