I hear a lot about the tooth fairy and santa and a lot about planes and bombs. I also hear a lot of anxiety and hate for the attempted conversions, ultimate truths and general feeling of the shovelling of anothers belief down thier neck - whatever the intentions of the shoveller.
Apart from an opposite view point do you have as much of a problem with these groups who are certaily in no way evangelical and infact most of them you have to deliberatly seek out the beliefs and teachings.
In short do you have as much anger and hate to these groups as well as the others?

I don't have a problem with anyone who keeps to their own beliefs and doesn't try and preach to others. It's about mutual respect-I respect the beliefs any religionist who respects my right to disbelieve.

I have never had a bad experience with a Pagan, Hindu or Buddhist (I've never met a Quaker as far as I know). They are respectful and don't try push their beliefs on me or dictate my life according to their beliefs. I also rarely hear about them harming anyone. Most of them seem to just live a peaceful life without really bothering anyone, so I don't have a problem with them. I don't hate people for believing something different than I and I don't look down on people for believing in god(s). It's the harmful actions, intolerance, arrogance and evangelism of some religious groups that make them unpopular. I have nothing against religions that are not like that. Some religions sound pretty cool even though I don't believe in them.

I think most Atheists are probably cool with Quakers, Pagans, and Buddhists.

Hindus not so much, becausae there are some fundamentalist Hindus who use religion as an excuse for violence and hatred (just like Christianity, Judaism, and Islam).

However, I don't know of any Buddhists, Quakers, or Pagans who ever use their religion for violence or hatred. I'm a pacifist above all.

As an atheist, I don't detest people of faith. I don't detest regular Christians, Jews, or Muslims either. They are free to believe whatever they want to believe in.

But generally, I have more respect for Pagans, Quakers, and Buddhists.

I feel that atheism is profoundly shortsided and unimaginative. The fact that we can even contemplate the existence of a higher power is proof of such power.
The main fallacy of most religions is that they visualize God as an external entity (man in the sky).
In reality, We are part of God, similar to a white blood cell. Could a white blood cell fathom the outside world if it had the ability to think? That is why it is difficult for many to accept realities (GOD) that are beyond the 5 senses.
White blood cells act autonomously, independant of the human mind. Just like we have free will.

Buddhists are OK. Most everyone else lives in a fantasy land. At least the rest don't knock on my door or try to bring their delusions into science class so they merit being left alone.

I'm opposed to religious faith in general and the christian and islamic faiths in particular for their past atrocities and modern spreading of ignorance.

Buddhists are ok because thats more of a moral code (though reincarnation is dumb) and they tend to practice what they preach. Hindus are as bad as any other religion and pagans are just empty headed hippies who think religion is like fashion.

I have NO problem whatsoever with groups or individuals who mind their own spiritual business, and respect the right of others to choose their own beliefs, by NOT preaching and attempting to convert them.
