rock hard like cement if exposed to air for a period of time?
i have never heard this before in my life, but someone at work really believes this, perhaps its true, so please let me know as this is just weird

No, the brain is like jello, they need to put it in a solution to study for an autopsy...if that's not done it just will decompose like any other organ.
