My boyfriend and i have been going out 3 months now. He has told me he loves me and i have too. And he is great with my son. But the other day i felt really hurt when he was on the phone to his friend their conversation was about how my boyfriend couldnt think of anyone to ask to go to his graduation as his dad is going and another place is left. After the conversation he said his friend is going to go too. Im upset because we plan things together all the time about us in the future and we have planed to go on holiday in summer. But why on earth did he not ask me? the friend he asked is not evan his best friend.

Does he not want to be seen with you in public? Does his dad not like you, or not think the relationship is a good idea? Is he afraid one of you would make a scene at an event that is supposed to be about his accomplishments? Does he think you should (or would want to) be with your son instead? If it's such a solid relationship, why can't/don't you ask HIM?

Bad sign. He is self absorbed, and more interested in what others think. It's OK to tell you he loves you in private and then take you in public? he's hiding something, and it should not be you.

He likes to feel Good about telling you what you want to hear, like he loves you. It's his way of controlling you. Actions like this are not loving and contradict his words.

I'd approach him directly and say that you'd be happy to attend his grad. If he balks, dump him last week. If he accepts your offer. Ask why he did;t ask you in the first place. If you accept and attend and he ignores you, it's a very bad sign. He should at least introduce you as his GF, shpould you be standing near him and others. If he doesn't introduce you at all, he is immature and not at all serious, and his words of love are BS.

maybe he didn't think you'd be interested in going.. maybe he thought your son might feel left out if he doesn't go.. maybe he thought you may not find someone to watch your son so you can go..

(depending on how old your son is a graduation ceramony may not be an appropiate place for him)

maybe he is unsure if he's ready to introduce you to his dad..

i'm sure there are a tonne of reasons

I have no idea except that I think it's a bad sign. He should be including you in events like this if he cares. Ask him about it. Tell him how it makes you feel and hopefully, he'll try to fix it.
