I have to decorate a 16 year old girls room. She loves the colours purple and sliver. She likes to be out going and creative andlikes her rom to be unusal.Froe example her last room was purple with yellow dots all over it!!!..It sounds odd-even horrible--but it was really nice. Please help cause shes growing up now and she wants somthing sophoscated but still cool! If you have any ideas let me know. Or any good links. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

I find the Dulux website really handy. There are loads of tips and advice given, on the size of rooms, how many windows (lighting), themes, colour schemes, layouts etc

personally I would go with a plumish grey color on the focal wall with a silver sculptural art piece. On the remaining walls I would use a lilac then incorporate the 2 purples on the bedding with silver shams and a silver throw blanket. All trimmed and countered with a really light grey (almost white) Almost hollywood glam.... maybe add a silver sheer canopy over the bed as a back drop and a large silver dressing mirror.

My room is a soothing vibrant green. It's like waking up in a calm forest.
I would go for lilac or lavender walls. A light purple will make the room seem bigger and brighter. Go for a lot of antique style furnishings with lots of golden bits. Gold goes very well with purple.
Silver will make the room look high-tech and futuristic, if you want this then get some silver curtains (I think Ikea does them or used to) and a nice big TV or stereo in silver.
If she wants a few posters get them framed with gold or silver frames.
So my advice:
purple + gold = "antique chic" and "baroque and roll"
purple + silver = "future fantastic" and "stylish modern"
I am sure she will love whatever you do.

you could try re-arranging things. another idea is go to any store and buy some photo frames and frame your photos. As for fashion + girly stuff, i take out pages from magazines that i really like and plot it on my corkboard. :D

you can make the backgroung velety purple and paint silver swirls around.it's cool and sophiscated!

Paint it a subtle lilac and you can get a lilac and silver chinese border, with chinese symbols on it. Try going with that theme and getting matching lampshades etc.
