Do we go to them where they are?
Do we see beyond anything they may have done in the past, and feel compassion for them?
Do we offer to help them?
Do we remember what Jesus Christ did for us, and do the same for them?
Do we extend this love to the whole of creation: to people all around the world, to every animal, and to the environment in which we live?
The Bible says we should.
Wouldn't this include Iraqi people?
Wouldn't this include Israel (God's chosen people)?

Not ALL Iraqis bad, and who are we to judge them unfit for the Kingdom of Heaven? I myself have not met all Iraqi people in Iraq, thus I cannot judge them either and state they will be, or have been, turned over to reprobate minds.
Furthermore, if our Nation & Government stop helping the Israelites, when it is made clear in the Bible that they are God's chosen people, then how do we expect Him to protect us and our Nation?

I was reading Galatians this morning and came across a verse regarding this though I can't remember the exact chapter and number but Paul said in his letter to make other people's burdens our own!

What do we do when someone else is in troubled waters? A. Depends on the situation
Do we go to them where they are? A. If they are family or friends, perhaps yes, perhaps no.
Do we see beyond anything they may have done in the past, and feel compassion for them? A. When people exhibit patterns of anti-social behavior, such as many career felons do, I feel the smartest thing to do is steer clear of them unless they endanger someone else, at which point it would become a police matter.
Do we offer to help them? A. My tax dollars are already helping nearly everyone who concievably has a need for my help.
Do we remember what Jesus Christ did for us, and do the same for them? A. We have to live in the 21st century, honey. Having positive role models is great but the reality is that Jesus did not have a cellphone, computer, rush-hour traffic, 24/7 cable coverage and all the other modern "wonders" that we are so blessed to have.
Do we extend this love to the whole of creation: to people all around the world, to every animal, and to the environment in which we live? A. In principle I am not opposed to treating all others with RESPECT despite their views. As far as animals and the earth as a whole, you are getting a bit abstract as far as taking action goes- perhaps you should join Greenpeace or the Sierra Club.
The Bible says we should.
Wouldn't this include Iraqi people? A. All people deserve respect and tolerance from others despite religious differences.
Wouldn't this include Israel (God's chosen people)? A. Saying they are "chosen" means they have some sort of elite status. They have a right to defend themselves just as you or I do, but don't idolize one race or ethnic group- it's kind of demeaning to those of us who are not "chosen"

Friend you are trying to put the cart before the horse, First of all Jesus DID NOT HEAL everyone he saw, & 2nd. Jesus threw out the money changes, & 3rd. Th bible says that God will turn them over to a reprobate mind, What God has cursed , we have no right to command that curse be lifted, & on the last straw, Yes if someone has no food, yes feed them, As far as any nation that is against Israel God says he will bless them that bless Israel & curse them that curses Israel, Now if you want to try & get in God's way, go ahead, God will curse you also, I have always said that God is a God of LOVE & then a God of Judgement & then a God of Wrath. We have seen the Love part of God & now we are just about ready to see God's judgement & wrath.

If you are talking about people who don't have the slightest idea who you are, you cannot pop into their life and be of much help.
If you are considering a long term assistance like a missionary, you may be able to help.
People usually do not trust others who just pop into their life, but people who are willing to take root and be there for the long haul, and have the means to help them, can make some progress with them.
If you are only concerned with their physical and spiritual health and don't have a clue how you can help them, you might start with prayer.
I remember a professor at a seminary who once said, 'Sometimes you can do more for your friend by going to the Lord and talking about your friend, then going to your friend and talking about the Lord'.
Sometimes that gets the best results.
A minister once said, 'I don't know which is harder to comprehend; that God sent His Son to be the bread of life, or that he called us to deliver the bread'.

It is a good point you are making, and since Christ is the answer to the problems of the troubled people we need to be presenting Christ to the world in every way we can. There are many organizations helping them in materialistic ways, but what our responsibility is is to give them the truth. Jesus said you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. (Jhn 8:32)

You need to put yourself in their shoes. Help them out cuz if you were in troubled waters you would expect someone to help you out right. And when you think about what Jesus Christ did....it doesn't mean to go crucify yourself....it means to reach out the person in troubled waters no matter who they are. Jesus reached to the prostitutes, his enemies, the people who spoke bad about him, basically he reached out to everyone. NO MATTER WHAT!!! Yes reach out to everyone and don't judge anyone cuz its not your job to judge. God will do the final judgement not us. Keep that in mind.

If you have the Spirit, he will give you the rhema word to guide you, if you ask for it and receive it. He does not want us to take things into our own hands, but to be available to the leading of the Holy Ghost.

One thing we need to do is pray. But we can teach the good news to people, but they have to listen and accept it. We can't force them. Jesus died for me and anyone else that will accept Him. This, though (accepting) they must do.
