Born again christian by this i take it that you have given up your entire self to God. You gave your life to God. People do not know what to do to be healed. You need to pray and seek God because he is the only healer. Its not that you don't have enough faith. It's just that sometimes we have to be patient and wait. Not everything that we want comes as soon as were done praying for it. Some miracles take longer than others. May i say that God has perfect timing. He knows what your going through and he will heal you. But you need to grow close to God and seek him put your flesh to the side and look to God. Just keep on searching and dont give up cuz that's what satan want's you to do. Don't give satan that. Stay strong in the Lord.
Hope my words help a little.

God is a support structure, not the cure. Take your meds, have counselling, what ever treatment your doctor recommends. That is the cure (well in your case the maintainence :-) It can be difficult to live with mental/physical problems your whole life. But know that it can be a bit easier if people support you , not condem you, and you know that god's got your back no matter how much "faith" "they " say you have.
Keep god by your side as a path finder for you. God doesn't help by performing miracles. She/he helps you by supporting YOU. By helping you have more convictions, more strength. helping you each day. Let god help you say "today is going to be a good day" every morning.
I used to be part of the "you don't have enough faith" crowd. Lets just say that there are good people and bad people in the world. There are good people who live by true christan values And then there are people who seem to have forgotten what jesus was actually trying to teach us. These people have become judgemental, hypocritical and heck down right arrogent.
You are not doing anything wrong. Please don't blame yourself. Have faith that you can support and maintain yourself. I don't even know you and I have faith in you. I won't pray for you each day coz I know god's got your back already, but I will thank the big guy/gal for it ( i.e. watching your back)
Again forget about how much faith you have/not have. Forget about what people aroung are/will say. Follow your treatment through. KNOW that god is watching you and has faith in you. If god can have faith in you, do you really think she/he doesn't know that you have faith in him/her.
Good luck and keep me posted :-)

the only thing you are doing wrong is listening to the wrong people. these people telling you this probably never have had serious mental health issues. they probably say 'oh just have faith, pray, and things will be fine' that's not the way it works. they forgot the fact that god helps those, who help themselves. recognizing you have a problem, and seeking help , tells me you are doing the best you can for your problems. you have to remember, it is not your fault, and it is nothing you are doing in your life for you to deserve this. a lot of mental illness is actually a chemical imbalance in you brain, and there is no cure, so medications relieves the symptoms. do not be so hard on yourself. you have done nothing wrong. i believe that god has given people gifts, and the knowledge to heal ourselves in some cases. that's why we have doctors, and nurses, and we must take advantage of that. it is easy for some Christians to just say it is your fault, just pray harder. remember IT IS NOT YOU FAULT you would not question the medications, if you were diabetic, or need pills for seizures. remember god helps those who help themselves, and sounds like you are doing the best you can. good luck to you.

Believe me, you don't have these problems because of a lack of faith! Sometimes God uses doctors and medicines as channels of His healing love.
Maybe you should see your doctor for a "tune-up." It could be something as simple as a change in med dosage or a change in med completely. God will get you through this. He is certainly not punishing you for doing something wrong. Mental illness has been around for eons, even in Bible times. Remember Jonah? He said he was so angry he wanted to die! So don't be hard on yourself. Pamper yourself, talk kindly to yourself and don't listen to people who tell you you don't have enough faith to be healed. God IS healing you, in His way, which means medication at this time. Good luck to you.

Faith is hard to describe. Only you will know ultimately its personal description. You need to stay away from asking people what to do about your mental condition bc ordinary folks just don't know how to give wise counsel. They are likely the very ones who gave you so much trouble with your mind in the first place! I'm not saying stay away to ask you to be a recluse. I'm simply saying don't ask for advice. There are people who are so opinionated they really think they're closer to God than you! We're all equally close, we just have dif info, and interpretation of that closeness.
But you do need to continue to monitor yourself on meds, and attend counseling and support groups. You are the only solution to your own problems, not advice from others. I may give you suggestions, but, I'm not your God. If you can't find God within, don't fret, you're still so much in your muck that you can't 'see' Him within you. Take your time to 'work' through your pain with a mental health professional. None of us is healed in a moment all the time. Life is simple, but your'e not in a position mentally to 'see' that. And it's ok.
You're not ok, and it's still ok. Does that make you feel good at least for awhile?

I dont feel that you have to be a born again christian to be healed. As long as you have faith in God and all that is good, you can be healed. Sometimes it is hard to find your faith because ther is so much unknown about God, just know that he exists and is waiting for you to seek his help.

Mental illness is like Diabetes. You have to treat it as such. My brother in law thought for years that faith alone could fix his problems
(bi-polar), he nearly lost his 14 year marriage to my sister. Would you think someone could cure diabetes with faith? Of course not. It is a brain chemical imbalance. It is physiological.

If you have turned to the Lord, just to 'heal' yourself,...you might wait a long time...when you surrender yourself to Our Father, and live for Him, and a witness to our loving Jesus,...believe me, They will heal you in time...but first, be sure that your intentions are not selfish, and accept the fact, that if the Lord wants you to be healed now, He will heal you now, if He has some other plans, then so be it, but one thing,...don't ever doubt Father or Jesus..I have had some horrible trials going on for a couple of years, and MY FATHER and HIS SON, have rid me of all of it, because I left it in THEIR hands...so love Them with all of your heart, and let Them heal you, because They know what you need, even before you think it...God Bless darling, and I know for sure, you are going to get well...start each day, thanking God and Jesus, for another day of living.

You have to pray that you will be happy in your heart and ask God to help you control and/or stablize your mental difficulties. We must remember to be specific when we ask God for help. Ask him to help you heal. Prayer is an amazing thing. Take care Heather
