Oh Boy, I know what you are talking about, this happened to my brother, he accepted one pregnat cat outside and it became so many to count. I bet there are nearby towns that you can call. You may have to get or rent cat traps and trap them and then drop them to a farm many miles away. I know this sounds bad, but if there is nothing else you can do, you have no choice. Please don't get me wrong, the cats that were dropped off were better off because they wee wild and had a farm with mice and stuff they could hunt. Try nearby towns or the major town nearest to you or the capital of that state, they should be able to help if the local vets can't help you. Good Luck. I know this is heartbreaking, but they will continue to multiply and you will bring into your home worms from te poop and feel like you are walking through a land mine. I also would call nearby neighbors that may be able to use cats because of mice problems, farmers really appreciate them and they have a warm barn in the winter and a cool barn in the summer.

I work in an Animal Shelter & I know we're not allowed to pick up/take in animals that aren't in the the city. Although, I don't know if its the same everywhere - plus if you don't have one, someone has to take it in. I suggest finding the numbers to the closest Humane Society/Animal Shelter & calling them to ask if they would take them in. If not, don't worry about it. There is a VERY bad population of cats that roam free, and from working at the shelter I can tell you there is not much of an increase of fatalities during the winter because they can't survive. They DO find shelter, and they CAN survive.
& Also, if you can't catch them, and they're feral. Most likely they will be put to sleep because they cannot be adopted out. All feral cats want to do is eat people. Kittens CAN be turned around and become friendly if theyre young enough, but most feral adult cats don't turn around.

Put out live animal traps. You can borrow them from any pest control places or I think that you could buy them at hunting stores. You might have to drive to a larger town nearby for the cages or a humane society. See if people in your neighborhood would like new barn cats. Go on petfinder.com and ask a rescue if they would post profiles for any cats that you can't place or if they could take them. You might have to drive to a larger town. Sorry, there isn't much that you can do if you don't get them to a shelter because most people don't want to buy a cat off of you that isn't very friendly.

Go to Alley Cat Allies to find a feral friendly group close by that will gladly help. TNR (trap-neuter-return) is the best thing you can do for those poor kitties that used to belong to someone until they dumped them or moved off and left them behind to fend for themselves.
It is a big problem all over. Also it comes from irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/neuter their pets and let them roam free to get the ferals pregnant. They have enough to deal with and if you help them by speutering them then that would end the kittens and spraying and fighting that goes on.
Then all you need to worry about is feeding and caring for them until they die. Trapping and killing them is not the solution for others will move in and continue the population. You will find alot of places that will speuter ferals for free.
I started a TNR organization for my community and it has helped alot. No more unwanted kittens.
Thank you for being so compassionate and doing the humane thing.

There is an animal shelter outside of your town of 800. Find out the nearest one and call them. Explain your situation and they SHOULD be able to help. Best of luck.

Try animal control even if you have to call another county or village. They may let you borrow some traps(cages) to catch them. You're not retarded but a humanitarian. God Bless You!!!
