After a failed Advantix treatment *within two weeks* is it OK to bathe *to remove the advantix* and then treat with Advantage once the puppy is dry?

I think that's what the vet said, but I had a killer headache at the time so I'm not entirely possitive.

Help is much appreciated.

The vet said that the only treatment that absorbs into the skin was revolution, and the reason that you can't bathe a dog after treatment in regular dog shampoo is because you'll be washing it off. Don't get it wet for three days, then only wash it in soap-free shampoo after that.

Got a chance call from my mom, sure enough that's what the vet said. Thanks, though.

HI
It is not a good idea since the medicine has absorbed into the skin, sure you can give a bath but do not apply another dose for a month.

I would give it three weeks and no bath.

I get a pretty good result from Revolution but if they come in loaded with fleas it doesn't always get them all right away. If its possible to take the dog outside and use a hairdryer the fleas that are not dying right away should jump off. They don't like the cold but they don't like the heat either. Be careful not to have it too hot it can burn the dog.

Call the vet to be sure, but effectively what you would be doing is double dosing the puppy and that could be very dangerous for the well being of the little guy. Like someone said, it is already absorbed into the skin.

if it is a drop treatment that goes on the back of the neck then no it is absorbed into the body and does not stay on the skin to be washed off you will poison the pup

Fleas are a major pest. There are various species of fleas - cat fleas, dog fleas, rat fleas and rabbit fleas.
You can get rid of them by the safest and cheapest methods like boric acid.
