That's a very good question, I have a Rottie and two cats, both of my cats are extremely loving, and put a mile on my face whenever I am just sitting here and they come up in my lap lay lay down with their loving purrs. My Rottie is the sweetest dog I have ever seen, she is loyal, listens to what we tell her to do, never makes a mess, and will lick anyone to death. They both have their ups and downs, living in an apartment now (got her when I lived in a house) is difficult because of the classification Rotties have gotten, as being "Vicious dogs" so we have to constantly watch for other people in the building so they don't freak out, plus she isn't a lap dog, lol and she doesn't clean herself, so those are her flaws, the cats, love to play, so anything I have down, pens, lighters, keys, etc. are usually under the couch each morning when I get up if I don't put all that stuff in a place where they can't get them. Cats clean themselves, use the bathroom in the same place and are easy to care for, but can be a nuisance, dogs are complete opposite, our at least, she requires a lot of maintenance but I love her to death. Living here, I would have to choose cats, living at my old house, I would choose dogs.

Dogs have more personality while cats are lower maintinance. Dogs need to be let out and cats, at best will only ever need to be let out of a room to find their box. Dogs show affection most of the time, where cats only like you when they're hungry. A mature cat won't play with you the way a kitten did, but a mature dog will play with you like a puppy *most times, not allways. better mannored usually*

Personally, I wish there was an animal with the personality of a dog and yet the physical flexability of a cat. Dogs just tend to feel so rigid, and caats are much more fluid, but cats are more likely to ignore you than a dog.

But I guess i'd be a cat person with a love for smaller dogs, maybe? I grew up with cats, can't count the number we've had on both my hands and both my feet. Most were kittens born of pregnant strays that decided to walk into our house, but either way.

I love both.
A dog listens when you speak too them, and is always company when you go for a walk, although I must admit when I took my Ridgeback for a walk my ginger cat of 29 years was not far behind I think he thought he was not going to miss out on anything, I remember once getting lost in a new district, and it was not the dog that got me home, it was an old ginger cat.

I really like dogs. Dogs are so loyal and lovable. They make you happy by welcoming you from work with their happiness. Cats are generally unpredictable... But sometimes I like cats because they really play a fool with spiders(!!), they always chase big spiders and play with them and make those spiders die at the end... ehhehe. This is a great thing from cats that I like because I am arachnophobia.

I have four of each, but I lean more towards dogs. Dogs are more loyal and they require more maintenence. Cats are independent and could care less as long as you feed them.

cats are very selfish so i would have to say dogs. Dogs are loyal and more fun.

Dogs... you can build a strong relationship with a dog and have trust and loyalty, whereas a cat just wonders from one person to the next...

I prefer cats because they are more loving, and you can snuggle up with them. Having said that though we have a dog, because my husband prefers dogs!!! :-)xx
