Nothing. The answer is 'nothing"
But, seeing as there is no such thing as "god" or the "devil", I don't agree with the riddle.

This is a very old riddle.
According to the answer, Nothing is greater than God, nothing is more evil than the devil. The poor have nothing, the rich need nothing and if you eat nothing you will die.

The riddle should be completed, "...if you eat it you die."
The answer is "Nothing".

with 'the poor have it, the rich need it' I see: Time... but then the rest doesn't work.
Greater in number, perhaps... but then, this 'god'-type could be infinitely fractalized...
