I agree with half of what you say,the war is illegal nobody should
be occupying iraq.British and US troops should never of gone to
iraq, the US troops dont deserve to die over lies anymore than
our boys do.Its not the soldiers who are in the wrong, its our
governments sitting in safety thousands of miles away that
are the real problem.

Wars are always about the same thing in the end.Mans greed,
and personal agenda along with a dubious amount of lies and
reasons that can never really be proved or disproved by the
public. This is why conspiracy theories are always thrown in
and out and missinformation is rife. This is why so many are
confused about the real reasons for the war in iraq right now.
If you ask a hundred different people the reasons for this war
You would get answers all across the spectrum and back.

some of the reasons ive heard.

Changing an evil regime, bent on the destruction of the west.

Fighting terror after 9/11

Securing the last of the peak oil and huge water reserves and
making sure that iraqi oil is sold in dollars.(what i believe)

Invading iraq gives the US the chance to build huge military
bases next to the real threat(iran)

Isreal are pulling the strings of the US,because they wanted
the US to have a huge army nearby in case of an attack by
iran or syriah.

All these reasons and more could be true, but as with any
good conspiracy, they cannot be proved or disproved.

The war in Iraq was a neccessary deed that went horribly wrong, and I think there is a balance to consider when deciding whether to stay in Iraq or not...

The majority of the public want us to pull out, therefore as a democratic country we should respect the wishes of the people.

Democratic officials are elected so that they can make a decision about issues with information that the public can't be presented with. So if the elected official thinks staying in Iraq is the right thing to do, then they have a moral obligation to do it...

That's my view anyway.

Britian has done enough on the military side of things and now it is time to come home and take care of the buisness side.
That BP and other British energy interest will have full particiaption with the most rewarding energy theft in history of oil, they can gt back to doing what they are best at.
Handling the transactions of world corporate and financial trade entitys.
Why keep wasting money on military actions and now the point has been rached where the American people will bear all the expences. as they did help finance in British books, for even if US were to fail, and they won't, the energy sources will remain viable.
Let the American people waste their money and youths any by using your newfound wealth and savings from not particiapting in combat, go back to buying up the cheap us economy.

I agree that the war was a necessary move in the beginning, and I think most people have a hard time understanding why it has lasted so long. I trust we are there to ensure that the terrorists are flushed out completely so that we have some sense of security in this country as well. Many police officers are killed in the war on our streets every day but we don't cry out for them to pull out because of the threat they face. Our troops are there to serve their country in the most heroic capacity. Death is ugly but in war it is inevitable. I pray the war ends so our men can come home to their families. But until then, I stand behind them and support their efforts to end terrorism and to restore freedom to a people that have never had it.The british should stay because this is a coalition effort.

Bush and America only recognised terrorism after 9/11 when we had our troubles in Northern Ireland the did not want to know and refused to extridite known terrorist, calling them freedom fighters. The main stumbling block being Senator Teddy Kennedy.
Blair took us into Iraq on a complete lie and has kept us there ever since. Also point blank refusing to meet any of the bodies coming back or visiting any of the wounded or meet any of the families.Get them out now.Send all the Iraqi people who came here because they were threatend by Saddam back to help rebuild there country.

i know my answer is a little late but i'll give it a go. the war in iraq is a farce. we the people of america knew who took the twin towers down on 9-11. but we have yet to capture him. it was reported that when the two towers went down osama jumped for joy at such a brilliant plan. but we were helpless. then a year later we were told that sadam concocted the whole thing, and he should be dealt with severly. he has the weapons of mass destruction to accomplish this terrible deed. and we bought it. and you know what happened later? it was brought to the attention of the american people that they couldn't find them. i'll be darned. now they found him and executed him. and do they know where osama is? nope. now i am concerned about our troops in iraq. why are they still there? when sadam was there it wasn't that much chaos in progress. said he was a ruthless killer. he was hanged because he killed one hundred and forty or so people.isn't it strange that our troops are dying every day? last count it was just too many. now my attention has turned to another problem. i am scared about our future now, we have another country to worry about and maybe another one. what are we going to do. there is no mention on strategies or what not. when it is time to actually have a real war , who will defend us. we are sending soliders who have families and moms and dads and little children who will not know their parents. and it makes me sad. and someone is trying to send more over there. to me this is a hopeless cause. there was gumption when it first started now there is just confusion on the faces of the parents, the wives, and husbands of those who are losing their lives for pettiness. my children have friends who want to go to the army and i cry because they might not make it home. there are too many lives that haven't even begun to live yet and it is disheartening to me. when we do get out from over there. who will be left? no i do not agree with this war in iraq, it is not a war. it is the nosey neighbor who wanted to be involved in something they had no business being involved in. the real terror in this world is osama. and the other two countries that are just waiting in the wings for their chance to strike. do i think we will be prepared? no. am i scared about our future? yes. it is time to know when we have done enough damage and bring our troops home. american and the british.

When America was attacked on 911 Everyone thought the Government should do something. Saddam Hussein became the whipping boy for America's revenge. Though doubtful if he had even a minor role in the attacks he became public enemy number one in the eyes of the American Government. His failure to cooperate fully with the Americans got him hanged and the Americans in a mess they cannot get out of.The only solution it appears is to divide up Iraq into separate colonies in which the different tribes can handle their own policing and security. and who said this would be another Vietnam for America? answer Saddam Hussein

I believe they should be there to try and gain back some control for the Iraqi people and then to hand it over to the Iraqi soldiers, but I do believe it is a war they cannot win, a bit like the Vietnam war. My Stepson is out there at the moment, he has seen friends and colleagues killed and injured and he is only 18 years old. I dont think in a country like that there is every going to be peace. With regards to the Americans, they are all sons, fathers, husbands etc. too and none of them deserve to die anymore than a British soldier in my opinion!

No one likes war. Everyone would love to have the troops back home. We all dislike terrorism. We wish 911 had never happened, but it did. If we just turn our backs on terrorism and wait for another 911, who would you blame? George Bush, as our president is committed to preventing another attack here. Most people have jobs, family, other committments so they are not as concerned and sometimes give in to anti-war arguments and political rhetoric. If Bush did this, we would have impeached him before this. It's kinda like a football game, we sometimes feel defeated but the coach never gives up. A lot of games are won in the last seconds. Coache's have been fired for throwing in the towel. Let's all suck it in, stage a comeback and whip the terrorists on their own field, this way we will never have to play them at home. The Btitish and American players are second to none.
