well they should be aloud they are not doing any harm, they are not forcing any1 to have sex with them, they are there so men or woman can have pleasure with no strings attached, there would be allot more rapes. and if u are single and not very gud looking its an easy way to get laid no matter how fat tall skinny or ugly u are. so i think they should be aloud. also its a job in the end of the day???????

I think that if prostitution was allowed it would allow for them to stay well and healthy as they would be more inclined to be honest when discussing things with Drs etc. It would allow them a safe monitored place from which to do business with protection. Ladies and Gentlemen who feel the need to prostitute themselves for whatever reason still have the right to work safely.

I think that people become prostitues for a reason and I wouldn't like to find out that my husband had slept with a prostitute but if he had as long as it was before we got together and he could prove that he had been tested for any nasties I would accept that his past is his past

In the UK they are allowed. You can legally work as a prostitute from your own home if you a woman and nobody else lives with you. You can't work on a street or in a brothel - these are illegal.

Personally I think they should be legal and taxed. It will be better for these women (and also for male prostitutes) and it will be better for the economy. Unless we adopt the view that we are not allowed sex outside of marriage and try to legally enforce this then really we can't say prostitution is morally wrong.

being a prostitute is the oldest job in the book.
unfortantly some prostitutes feel and believe thats the only way to make some money.
i think prostition should be legalised so the prostitutes are not put in any danger.
alot of them have lost their lives being a prostitute they have a right to be protected and helped to show there is another way other than being a prostitute

someone once said to me that if there were no prostitutes then all the weirdos and perverts would have no where to carry out there perversions and so there would be more rapes than there is already, It do make sense but im not sure on the subject, its very degrading to the woman that do it and most only do it to feed drug habits. The world would be a better place if the only thing on a mans brain wasn't sex.

yep I think they should be - if they were legalised I think there would be a lot less rape going on.
Look at Amsterdam - its legal there and Ive never felt so safe anywhere in the world - even in the red light district. The girls are safe which is also very important.
People are always going to use prostitutes - whether its illegal or legal - and it would most definately be an advantage for it to be legalised - perhaps then we could avoid more murder cases like the 5 that were recently killed.

I think it's awful - that some women are having sex all day over and over again with strangers for money. In this day and age this inhuman profession should be stopped. Men would just have to satisfy themselves or have a proper relationship with a women. I don't believe any women out of choice would be a prostitute if given a decent education, decent job and decent housing. It's time we realised that prostitution is just cruel exploitation of women.

They serve a purpose & service some men that may sexually assault an otherwise innocent woman. Men support the sex industry. I think child prostitution is terrible & should definately by banned, but prostitution is a service that anyone can access & pay for. I don't believe a person in a manogomous relationship should have sex with anyone else though if that is what you are afraid of.

We've just got another serial killer of prostitutes and my heart goes out to these women and girls who put themselves at risk and allow themselves to be used, abused and humiliated- and possibly murdered- in order to satisfy male lust and to pay for drugs which will make them into zombies anyway. Children must be protected and so must asylum seekers who are smuggled into the country and forced into prostitution. It will never stop the demand. Men just love to treat women in this simple, crude way with absolutely no commitment thereafter. It should be legalised and prostitutes enabled to live in safe houses with health checks and support. It should be an informed choice for women to go into the sex industry- never coerced or forced into it. I s'pose the same goes for rent boys- but I'd like to know what they think. C'mon, boys, what's your take on male prostitution??

Prostitution is actually the oldest occupation around apparently. I don't really condone it as such, but I believe it should be made legal and regulated properly like it is in Amsterdam and other Scandinavian countries. In these countries it is done legally and above board and there is a police commission that look after them and prevent any trouble or illegal activities. It would stop it being so sleazy and taboo in my opinion if it were made legal.
