I will be making a trip to NYC in late June to see the Yankees & Mets play, and check out the city. But i really want to go to Boston to see Fenway Park as well. What is the best, easiest, cheapest way to get there?
Also any suggestions on NYC nightlife for college males (restaurants & bars, clubs, broadway, comedy, shows, etc) would be great. Thanks.

Flying is the stupidest suggestion. It will take you 30-45 minutes to get to the airport. Another 2 hours with check in and security. Another hour just to be sure you are not late. And then a 30 minute flight.

it only takes 4 hours by bus and the ROUND TRIP ticket is cheaper than the cab ride to the airport.

Forget the chinatown bus. They are cheap, but breakdown. Greyhound has an e-fare ticket (only online). It is about $35 RT and leaves every 30 minutes or so from the terminal (that is only a block or two away from times square)

Chinatown bus is the cheapest. There are three lines. Go to www.staticleap.com/chinatownbus. Take the subway to Fenway Park
Be sure to make a reservation for the pretheater dinner special at the Four Seasons, which is a five star restaurant. If you are seated by 6:15 you get a full dinner from appetizer to dessert for $65 a person. Call 212-754-9494 and ask to be seated in the pool room. The best bargain in town. Get your theater tickets at the half price ticket booth or you can find discounts on line for a lot of Broadway shows.
Ride the Staten Island ferry, go shopping at Century 21 (across the street from the WTC). It's discount and very stylish.
There are lots of clubs-are you 21 or younger?

I'd take the train or bus since with check in times at the airport, the time is about equal. Frankly, I can't deal with airport security anymore nor do I like squeezing in tiny shuttle flights. The train and bus info has been provided by some of the other respondents. The Chinatown bus is the cheapest and I know quite a few people who take it...but you can pay a bit more for comfort, reliability.

Once in NY, head for the Lower East Side which has tons of bars and restaurants to hang out. Head to Times Square for the broadway hits. In Boston, the area around Fenway park has clubs and bars. Other fun areas are Cambridge and the South End.

More importantly, the trains and buses leave and arrive in the city so you once you arrive, you're in the middle of where you need/want to be.

I suggest either flying - Delta has a shuttle a couple of times a day between LaGuardia and Logan. Otherwise, there's a bus - Chinatown Express, that takes you from NYC Chinatown to Boston's Chinatown for like $25. If you're renting a car, you can drive it in about 4 1/2 hours.

There are shuttle flights to/from Boston and New York every hour on Continental, Delta and United/or American. A roundtrip flight is about $150 and takes about an hour. This is probably your best bet. Many of the Amtrak trains to/from Boston and New York are close to $150 roundtrip, but they take about 3 to 4 hours. If you have a car, you could drive - it's best to go in the middle of the night when there is no traffic.

The best way is to take the limoliner, can be found on
It leaves from the Hilton on 54th street and ends at the Hilton Boston back bay next to the Prudential Center. It costs about $75 and there is free wireless internet, reclining seats, free meal, snacks and drinks, as well as two tv's where one shows movies and one shows NBC. It takes about 4 hours but is equivalent to flying time as you depart and leave from central areas, you do not have to drive to or from airports nor pay for airport transportation nor have the hassles of dealing with TSA.

The bus takes about 4 hours and is cheap, flying is quicker and cost alot more. In NYC Coyote Ugly on 1st Ave is great especially at weekends.

A travel agent could be your best bet for all this information. Or you could visit a service like Mygola that connects you to a real guide that'll help you out.
