A little girl, dressed in her Sunday best, was running as fast as she could, trying not to be late for Bible class. As she ran she prayed, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late! Dear Lord, please don't let me be late!" While she was running and praying, she tripped on a curb and fell -- getting her clothes dirty and tearing her dress. She got up, brushed herself off, and started running again. As she ran she once again began to pray, "Dear Lord, please don't let me be late . . . but please don't shove me either!"

A man is walking in the woods when he notices a hungry bear behind him. He starts running frantically away. But the bear is faster and is catching up to him. In a panic he starts praying "God, please make this bear a Christian bear." The bear catches him but he keeps praying. As the bear is about to eat him it stops and says "for all we are about to receive......"

That's funny, because it shows how much the God of the Bible hates little children. It's also rich in metaphor - Praying to the Christian deity will "trip you up" and make you dirty.
