"To say that the human soul, angels, god, are immaterial, is to say they are nothings, or that there is no god, no angels, no soul. I cannot reason otherwise...without plunging into the fathomless abyss of dreams and phantasms. I am satisfied, and sufficiently occupied with the things which are, without tormenting or troubling myself about those which may indeed be, but of which I have no evidence."

I agree. The term "immaterial" connotes nothing. If one describes the soul as immaterial, then the description means that the soul is without substance.
However, I also disagree. A believer would not describe the soul as immaterial except mistakenly. If anything, it is "extra-material." It is material in an existence which cannot be seen by us 3D creatures.

I completely disagree with this statement by Thomas Jefferson. Because something is immaterial doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Love, hope, friendship, good will, and charity surely exist (as does their opposites) and none of them have a material existence but I doubt anyone would say that these things don't exist.

Thomas was a smart bloke indeed.
To talk is of nothing aswell. Yes it is correct. Why do we do it, we come from the primordial spit. Have we even been born or is this just another dream? Find out what you were before being born and then you can just be. Wake up as they say in hinduism. Imagine knowing all, being all, I would get pretty lonely I think, even the gods try to express themselves, and yes they die too, one day, because they were born like you and me.

Whether you like it or not, you have an appointment with God at his Judgment throne. You can believe or not, it isn't important, what is important is God made the rules and you will be there. Of course, you are in a position to make a choice as to which fate you will have as have, and I personally hope it is one you will enjoy.

It is a great pity for him and for those who don't know the existence of immaterial realities!
Can anyone show me his material love, his material intelligence, his material regret, his material thought...? Or even material electricty, material dark energy, material time...?
Can you show me material Thomas Jefferson?
