Because were as snug as a bug in a rug and don't want to move from the warm cosy bed to get up and go and do a day's boring work espically at this time of th year as the morning's are dark too. Not so difficult to get up in the warm bright summer!

Perhaps you didn't get in the bed til late. I do find though on my days off, getting out of bed is so much easier than when I have to work.

Maybe "Aurthur" is paying you a visit. That is when I first noticed that I didn't feel right-in the morning. Then I went to the Dr. and they said it was stress. Come to find out (long story short) that it was an arthritis condition that can potentially be serious.

Just think of all those poor souls in hospitals all over the world and you should then be delighted you can get out of bed on your own. Every new day should be a delight!

because you have not had enough good sleep and when you wake your body is not completely rested... or you hate getting up because you do not like going work/school and the knowledge that you have to get up and go just makes the comfort of the bed so much more attractive in comparison.

It sounds as if you are very old or very ill, otherwise it is because you are lazy and unmotivated.
Do you have the same problem even if something exciting was to happen, ie you were off on holiday and had to catch a flight at an early hour?

If it's anything like this morning - when I drew back the curtains & saw the snow - getting up & out holds absolutely no appeal at all!!!
