I hear on yahoo answers and many other forums about single mothers and children born out of wed lock to single mothers and the % of children of single mothers or why are we not doing anything about the number of children born to teenage girls.

Of yes, you can argue that the girls are the ones 'having' the babies but does not one understand that IT TAKES TWO MAKE A BABY!!!

There are MEN (boys) out there that are not raising their chidren. That thre are teen BOYS that are helping get teens girls pregent.

And PLEASE do not give me the 'girls should find ways to not get pregnent" speach. Are the men out there responsible AT ALL??

Should this not be group problem.? Both men and woman and/or teenage girls and boys being taught ways to not get pregent and that they are BOTH responsible for their children. ??

Men have no rights when it comes to a pregnancy. Let me tell a girl I want her to get an abortion, and see how far the mob chases me! Custody of a child, especially by a teenage boy is laughable. Young couples are too immature to decide if they will be able to stay together, so why force them to get married when it is HIGHLY likely they will just get divorced later.

Your best bet is to educate young people about the consequences of teen pregnancy BEFORE they pair off and make the mistakes. Our children are our responsibility. We have to be examples for them.

What is the right course after a teen has a kid? Parenting classes for both the mother and father, immediate induction into adulthood, and a whole lot of child support from daddy. Mom works hers off.

Simply because men aren't left holding the baby. Look, girls, we surely *all* by now know the facts of life and what it takes to make a baby. So grow up, take some responsibility and stop looking for who u can blame when things don't work out the way u wanted. Yes, dear it *does* take two to have a baby. So it's up to the woman aswell. I don't want to get pregnant right now so when I have sex I make sure protection is used. And, guess what? I haven't had any babies so far...

well, guys are irresponsible bunch so they choose not to take responsibility of the child..

a lot of teenagers are having unprotected sex these days even though they were taught to use a condom.. i think if a girl gets pregnant, both parties(guy and girl) are responsible because they were not responsible enough to protect themselves..

it is both the responsibility of the guy and the girl to make sure that they should protect themselves if they don't want a baby to be made when they have sex..

I agree it should be a group problem. The problem I have seen is that the boys are usually such a negative influence, it is better if they are not forced to be involved. I think we are just different than men in that we usually have less of a hard time changing our lives and adjusting to make our children first. Men are often too worried about themselves and their time to themselves.

You are correct that both should be responsible for the baby that they create. It is easier for the male to leave as he does not have to carry and give birth to the baby. Unfortunately, society has deemed that it is OK for guys to "sow their wild oats" while the girl has to reap the problems. I would say that it is on the individual to be safe. If your partner is not mature enough to take precautions, then you need to leave them alone. No one can force the boys to take responsibility, with the exception of child support. Please take note that I never referred to these as men due to the simple fact that a man always takes responsibility for his actions regardless of his age.

I think that we live in a society today thats more sexually aware than ever before. Sex is used to market just about anything and I think that it is the root of the problem. I think that we all should do a reality check when in a situation of being physically involved with someone. Your actions determine your fate and You should know what you want for the future before engaging in unsafe sex.

Goood insight dear. Its a sociatal problem and the males are equally responsible for their children and therefore should take care of them
