I get random bloody noses at all times of the day. Sometimes I get them as frequently as 6 or 7 times a week. I've been having problems with this for as long as I can remember (I'm 22 now), and I don't have any illness that might cause frequent nosebleeds. I know it's dry here during the winter, but even though they're more frequent in the winter, I still get them a lot during the wetter months. They usually start for no apparent reason, I don't even have to bump my nose or anything. I've heard that cauterizing the nose might work. Do you know anything about this? Is it effective? Does it hurt at all? Thanks in advance

It sounds as though you may have a problem with your adenoids in your nose. These can become inflamed and constantly break, causing a nose bleed. Have you gone to see a doctor about this problem at any time? There's no such thing as a "mystery nosebleed", and there will be some physical reason for it.

Trim your finger nails.

Ha ha, just kidding...

It is the dry air. If you can't hook up a humidifier, try drinking/eating more hot stuff like coffee, oatmeal, tea, soup...

Also you can get yourself a nasal spray and use it a few times throughout the day. That'll help alot.

See your doctor, it's not good to loose so much blood, yes you can get your nose cauterized and it does help, maybe a little painful, but not too much.

1 word. Tampons! Insert a tampon up each nostril and this will stop the bleeding. Tampons can be bought from any supermarket or chemist.
