When doing my garden the otherday I found a dead cat in my flower beds. The only thing I could think of doing with it was freezeing it so to preserve the body, while I tracked down the owner. Its been 2 weeks and I still have not found the owner. What do I do with the cat, bury it in my own garden?

yes.
And make a pretty grave, and plant some flowers on it. The poor beast deserves the best

The law only applies to dogs But it will ,ease your mind and be a comfort to the family who's cat it was , to put a notice up in a nearby shop and your local newspaper , giving a description of the cat and where it was found . The cat most probably died instantly, with no pain It is hard to lose a family pet , and harder still , when you do not know ,if it is alive and suffering or dead It was so kind of you, to remove the cat from the road This further gesture, of trying , to contact the owners , will give you peace of mind you will then, have done everything you can possibly do . You really are a kind and thoughtfull person >^,,^<

Contact / check with your local veterinarian. They have a variety of disposal services available.

Once, I picked up a kitten that had been hit by a car. She was too badly damaged to save and had to have her put to sleep. The veterinarian arranged to have her cremated and buried at the local pet cemetary.

Yes. You should have buried it to begin with. I certainly hope you at least wrapped it in several layers of plastic wrap and then wrapped a towel or something around it before putting it in the freezer. If not, you need to go buy a new freezer.

I'd suggest cremation, that way the next gardener doesnt have to deal with the dead body/bones, and you can sprinkle the ashes on your roses, great for most flowers. Its nature at its best.

Uhhh, yeah. I'd just bury it. OR, on second thought... you might take it to the vet and see if it had rabies... you know, see what killed it... make sure it's not leaving some kind of disease in your yard... Then the vet could also dispose of it.

Call your local Animal Shelter and/or Animal Control.

I would bury it and clean out my freezer with bleach.

Take it to a vet, explain the situation and they should take care of it for you free of charge.
