If all that you say is true, then simply trust in what you have, and let it be. You sound as if you are happy with how it is now, and so it's not as if you would be suffering to simply accept the relationship as it is for now. It may well be that he would like to have the honor of proposing when he is ready to.

I believe he is in love with you or has very deep feelings. don't be too pushy with the marriage scene just yet. If he is in a delemma than try talking to him about it to see if you can help him in some way. If he won't talk to you about it then all you can do is be there for him.
In the mean time try your hardest not to be more than good friends, it'll be hard be he will only get more confused. A good friend is always there for the other person.

Good luck

its no use ricking what a good relationship you have to make it romantic. tell him that you still want to be great friends, and that if he starts to fell something more for you, you will be open to him coming to you. and that if theres a reason that he feels unable to be romantically involved w/ you, that he can talk 2 you about it if he wants. but dont pressure him! hopt it helps. remember dont ruin what great thing you have. you may regret it later.
