I believe there are lifeforms that we don't know about on Earth. Space is moot point. We cant get along with the life on this planet..what is the point of looking for someone else to be biggoted against. Mathematically, there can be other diminsions.

If you believe in god and believe we were created by him. Look at this. Man created robots. We created machines. We allowed those machines to communicate without contact. it was faster and more convenient. If god created us then it is logical that he allowed the same feature but we don't know how to turn it of and on. Emphatic abilities and a trick. Being emphatic means that you feel what the other person feels. It is based on your own experiences. If you felt degraded and depressed by a bully and see some one experiencing the same chargrin then it is possible through memory and sensory recall that you will experience the same thing.

I don't believe in god. But I always look for it.

I logically created mental situations where god might have existed the one I like is this.

First you have to answer some questions.

Where did god come from?
Were we an accident?
Why create angels then create us?
Why are we here?
Why did god create lucifer and cast him out when he rebels?
Why create a reward and punishment system for us?
Why were we giving free will if it wanted us to act a certain way?

Lets assume we weren't an accident.
If god created us who created him?
In all the infinite universe the possibility that life was created accidently by cosmic collision or whatever is actually extremely unlikely but possible.
Looking at the wide variety of lifeforms on this planet it is feasable to we were created by a higher lifeform. Since there is a chance for life to accidentaly be created. Maybe god was accidently created. (The environment for life to start and exist is more impressive that life beginning in it.).

Assuming he possessed all he needed for survival. It develops a consciousness. It has questions.

Who am I?
Where did I come from?
What is my purpose?

It has the same questions that we have. Lets assume the theory of eternal life applies to this entity. To go an infinite lifetime and never be able to answer those questions. Through observation and trial and error it creates tools to help it answer those questions. Angels. Since even with an infinite lifetime, infinite patience may not be in abundance. The longer it goes with no answer the more agitated it becomes. The angels were meant to help explore the vastness of its universe. However, the angels do exactly as god instructed and could not evaluate ever feature of Gods universe. They couldn't evaluate gods mind and emotions.

God experiments with an angel (Lucifer) trying to create a being of similar mental and emotional compatibility. Lucifer is given emotional consciousness. Unlike humans, Lucifer is given the answers to his questions.

Why am I here? --A guniea pig to be observed in hopes of finding the answers to god's questions.
Who am I? --One of an infinite number of beings for which you can not interact emotionally.
Will I ever die? --No

Lucifer has his answers and realizes it won't end and realizes that the task is horrible to spend all eternity contemplating a question that has no purpose for him. His only way out is for god to destroy him but the end wont come until the answer is found.

Lucifer tries to force god. God banishes him and observes him from afar. Maybe god decides that it would be better if the subject of his observations know nothing of him (possibly in a limited fashion)

He allows them to die after a certain amount of time. He gives them the questions but not the answers. The questions are who, what, when, why, and how. We spend generations asking those questions and god watches as each generation learns from the past generations.

This answers why we are here. To explore the universe. To learn all that there is. When we die. Angels possibly carry our acquired knowledge and conclusions back to god (our soul if you will) for him to evaluate.

We are given free will to go where we want to and he designed us to be adaptable to any environment or creative enough to fashion devices to help us explore our environment. When we are done with earth we will spread like a virus and explore the rest of the universe. it will take millions of generations to accomplish. Once the universe is completely explored and all knowledge is learned he will determine the answer to the questions he has.

I don't believe there is a reward and punishment system. If there was I would imagine that god explores the satisfied nature of the "good" souls and Lucifer explores the souls under extreme duress. Scientifically speaking that makes sense. You have to evaluate extremes.

Or maybe, those who went through extremely traumatic lives have already garnered the experience and are granted release. Those who experienced no stress are subjected to lucifer to be tested before release. Whatever.

This answers all questions neatly. A lot of holes, but it allows for a chance in my mind that there is a god. The answer to where did god come from has always been the most important for me.

Umm...thats it. Done daydreaming. bye

i do believe that there are other lifeforms co-existing with us, in the same dimension, if not somewhere close.

extraordinary abilities, yes. for example people with "magnetic-bodies", telekinetic and psychic abilities have been appearing for many years. though they exist, science has not yet fully explained them. (of course, we also cannot ignore those people who pretend they have such powers)

though science refuses to accept the unexplained scientifically, science in itself has to realise, it is not yet complete. meaning, there are still more to be discovered, everyday. every year, different parts of science discovers something new. its like a learning process.

for some people, religion offers them an "alternative" to explain the supernatural.

for me, i believe we were put on this planet for a purpose. that is, to discover... this, coming from a "liberal-conservative".

i'd like to hear what other people think :)

I don't think religion has anything to do with the ideas you have listed. In fact, you can pretty much fit your religion into most of the ideas and thories going around today. Have you heard of the string theory? People that study this theory figure if there is a God then He is plucking the strings.
