Whatever religion they want. Following a particular religion does not require one to accept its myths as literal truth.

Most scientists believe in a god. Understanding and accepting evolution and the big bang doesn't mean that god is taken out of the picture.

well, let us examine the reasons for their 'belief': a vast body of cross-discipline evidence that has been collected, examined and verified over time by a large number of scientists.
Now, let us do the same of religion in general: hearsay, superstition, a book that was written a couple of thousand years ago which has obvious inconsistencies, and no evidence at all.
So, evolution theory and the big bang theory are not religion.

They believe in the religion of evolution, if apes became humans then human can also become apes.
They believe in cause and effect, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

while it is said that people in fields like that (especially biology related) tend to give religion less importance (and I assume that it follows that there are more atheists amongst them) a simple contradiction is not going to stop a religious person from believing what they believe.
well, here... maybe i'm wrong about biology

Ones beliefs need not be effected by their understanding of the natural world.
I think people need to understand what is physically possible and what isn't - you can be intensely spiritual/religious AND understand that parts of your religion are myths.
