i don't want to wear a swimsuit because i don't feel too comfortable in something that revealing just yet.
what other options are there. i don't want to look like an idiot

and there's no pool at this gym, so a swim suit is kind of out of place

It's unfortunate that you have to wear anything in a sauna, since they're really designed to be used naked. However, since that's not the case in your situation, I'd suggest that you use a large towel or buy a terry cloth wrap-around and start with that the first time you go. Once there, you'll see what others are wearing and you can dress accordingly.
