Well ive checked the online phone directory and he isn't listed.

So what I would do next is write a letter addressed to him. Take it to your local social security office and ask them to see if he is on the system. They won't tell you if he is or not but you could ask them to forward the letter to him IF you offer to pay the postage. You could show them the contents of the letter you are sending just so they know you are not after him for money etc...

They can only say no. Also you are not asking for details they are not allowed to give you anyway.... i.e. The data protection act etc..

Hope you find him.

PSS: The only other suggestion or after thought I had was you could go to a main library in Cardiff and search the electoral roll.

There are no less than 59 "Peter D. White"'s showing up in an electoral roll search at www.192.com, but without paying for credits I couldn't tell you where any of them live.

If you had some idea of a wife/partner or children who might be living with him, it might narrow those 59 names down a bit more, but not nearly enough I fear to get close enough.

As a genealogist I am more concerned (and better at) dealing with the dead rather than the living, as the dreaded "Data Protection Act" often gets in the way during the 20th century.

If he's not in the phone book or listed on the electoral roll then your chances are pretty slim. Otherwise your options are:

(a) Friends Reunited (you might get lucky if he is registered)

or

(b) The Salvation Army (they offer a people tracing service but only for FAMILY and RELATIVES, not friends)

The best reverse cell phone lookup service that I have tried is http://reversephone.toptips.org

From using a reverse cell phone lookup you will be able to get the callers name and address just
by typing the phone numbers they will tell you the details related to the number.
The reverse cell phone lookup service has your details available they will give you the cell phones location. For a full report including a name and address and other interesting informations you will have to pay.
Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally provide the most basic of information such as name and it works only for landlines. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
This service is great, I used it a lot f time with great results: I always obtained what I was searching for.
I definitely reccomend this service.
