yes if you research the breed and it's characteristics. pugs can be anything but docile. they snort, they snore and dance around under your feet. they are prone to many medical problems. if you have researched all there is on this breed and decide to have one as a pet. research a reputable breeder. once that health screens, and temperment tests the parents. has breeding stock that conforms to the breed standard. you can see where the pup was raised and at least one parent. if you can afford vet care, spay or neuter, crate, toys, leash, collar, etc...and the time and money for training and socialization. be consistant and have the time to properly exercise the dog. then you might be ready to live with a pug.

well I hvae one & I LOVE her to pieces!! what i can tell you about them are these few things....1) They are VERY VERY needy, they NEED to be with you & they tend to be a one person dog, like my pug follows me EVERYWHERE & gets pretty upset when Im not available fro a bit...they love everybody but stick closest to ONE person 2) they are ALWAYS hungry & will eat untill they are unable to eat, they will beg & beg & beg & you have to be very carefull to not let them get too fat as its very unhealthy for them 3) they are al ot of fun, my Abbey loves to play w the family & run around the house like a little maniac she ssooo silly she makes me laugh everyday 4) they can be prone to a few severe health problems do your research before you commit to a pug but know that over all they are pretty healthy dogs, just be sure to get your from a reputable breeder & not a pet store or back yard breeder, doing something this iresponsible could result in sever health issues for your little pup 5) Ive also been told that they can be VERY stubbon & hard to potty break & train however I got my little girl from my local shelter & whoever had her before did a GREAT job so I guess I got lucky..........bottom line is I LOVE MY PUG & I THINK SHES GREAT but they are not for everyone so do your research & make sure a pug is the right breed for you & your faimily talk to a few breeders & meet a few pugs before you jump in blind......go to AKC.org & they can direct you to breeders in your area...they are WONDERFUL little dogs but for sure not for everyone...BEST OF LUCK

pugs are dogs, right? well, i think dogs are the best pets anyone could have. if not whhy would they call them man's best friend?! dogs are loyal, friendly, and they can keep watch of your house at night, if you train them properly. there was a story of a dog who actually saved a child during the 2004 tsunami in indonesia from drowning. you know, one day your dog could save your life!!! DOGS RULE!!! :)
