Love is only real when both believe in it and define it the same way. Otherwise, it is a mantra.
I have explained this to my wife and nephews. It may sound weird writing it down.
When you feel something it is because of a stimulus: sight, smell, sound, touch, etc.
When your body is stimulated certain chemicals are released. Now as your mind analyzes those chemicals your brain is analyzing and comparing what is is recieveing with past stored chemical memories. If you are interested in men, your mind is going through every image of every man you ever looked at, talked too, touched, etc. Comparisions are being done and you mind is giving each feature a rating of sorts to see how close to perfect he is for you. There is probably a hardwired imprint in your mind as well. Your mind is evaluting strength, threat, healthiness, and so on.
The longer you spend with that individual the more frequently those chemicals are released. New neural pathways are created which when the body stops recieving those chemicals, your body has withdraws such as would happen with his absence and / or breakup of the relationship.
Instensity of love is determined by how close to your bodies idea of perfect your man is and the frequency of the stimuli that his personality and being creates in you. If you are still together but he is out of town and not all of the normal stimuli is there such as sight and touch, you feel lonliness because of the absence of certain chemicals.
Love is a unique chemical coctail created by your body and mind.
Nothing more.
It only becomes more when both individuals give it the same spirituality. Like Romeo and Juliet.
Love is technically real but don't confuse it with a spiritual power. Love will not heal all. Love won't find a way. Love is not an answer, it is a result.
When you say I love you. It is just the strongest word in the English language that can express the strength of bond between you and your mate. It is only true if you mean it.

i can assure you love is real. love is the universal language that everyone speaks. only you know if you are being true to yourself when you tell someone you love them. there are so many different types of love. theres love.. falling in love.. being in love.. true love.. and unconditional love. to love and be loved in return is the greatest gift anyone can ever receive. i would say true love is really hard to find. and unconditional love is the ultimate gift. If you find those two in life.. your extremely blessed. Good luck to you.

When someone is in love, certain parts of the brain are affected...... when someone is "insane" those same parts are affected....... being in love is the same as being insane.
