Hi. The house that I am living in at the moment has VERY soft water. This means that whenever I take a shower or wash my hands, the water is unable to fully rinse off the soap. As a result, I have developed a skin sensitivity where I get really itchy quite easily.

At first it wasn't a problem, but now I'm curious if anyone else has had to deal with this same issue. Were you able to find a soap that washed off more easily than others? Please don't recommend a moisturizer or lotion, 'cause I want to solve this without adding something else into the equation. Thanks!

I also have a skin sensitivity, though not from soft water. I currently use Faith in Nature soap which is totally non-irritating: http://www.faithinnature.co.uk/shop_frameset.asp?mainframe=catlink.asp?Cat=64

If you are desperate you should use E45 wash cream. It is not a soap at all, but it still has a cleansing effect: http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100003565.html

Yes. I don't use soap. It's perfectly ok. I use only plain water on my skin, even to take off makeup. That was the advice of my dermatologist.

I'm actually cleaner than if I had used soap, because soap leaves a film and the film attracts yucky dirt and odors.

Dove has always been the best soap for me. That's because it's very mild, and isn't made like most soaps. Give it a try.

Have you tried Johnson & Johnson Baby Wash? It's extremely mild, and comes in several different formulas. It rinsed off my baby completely when she was still getting sponge-baths.
