I know this may sound silly but I'm really curious. Do all men get their foreskin cut off or something? If so why and when does it happen? And what if they don't?
I never heard of anything about it before untill just now. Plz tell me. Thank you!

No, over 80% of the world's men are uncircumcised. Circumcision only happens routinely in the US and Israel. It is a brutal practice, to say the least. It started as a religious ritual. In recent times supporters have been searching for legitimate reasons to justify it. Claims have been made for appearance (absolute rubbish), hygiene, and reduced risk of STDs (look here for a rebuttal of the recent HIV claims: http://www.circumcision.org/hiv.htm )

I was circumcised, and I wish I had my foreskin. The foreskin is supposed to be very erotic and sensitive, making the penis a lot like the clitoris on a woman (which also has a foreskin, by the way -- it's just smaller). The foreskin keeps the glans (the end of the penis) moist, lubricated, and protected from irritation when one is not using it. There simply isn't any good reason for circumcision. It takes away from sexual pleasure for men and women, and the hygiene benefits are trivial. Here are some links (some of them pretty extremist, but still good info) if you want to know more about it:

Dr. Dean Edell, the radio show host, has spoken out against the practice:

Women who have been with both prefer the natural, intact penis:

At the very least little boys should be allowed to grow up to decide for themselves if they want to get a sensitive, erotic part of their penis amputated. It is not only a practical issue, but a human rights issue. Lots of American women are ignorant about this subject too. They just assume that circumcised penises are better and cleaner, when the fact is that the foreskin is easily cleaned with plain soap and water and is a large, very nerve-laden skin area (about 15 square inches with roughly 10000 nerves on an adult man).

To those who cite health benefits regarding STDs: circumcision does not eliminate STDs, so people are foolish to rely on this to prevent them. Also, penile cancer is often caused by HPV and it is very rare anyway. I once read that the complication rate from circumcision is higher than the actual rate of penile cancer. There's also a vaccine against HPV, so the cervical cancer argument can hardly be used anymore. Even if there are some benefits, does that justify cutting off part of another person's body against their will?

And circumcision hurts children as well as adults. I read somewhere that it can interfere with normal nursing of infants. Please, if you have children, don't do that to them. Good night!

Oh yeah . . . one more thing. Some people say that they've only seen circumcised penises in porn. Well, I don't know how many people know this, but the erect natural penis looks a lot like the circumcised penis except that it's moist and it has a little more skin on it. Generally speaking, the foreskin moves back when the penis is erect. That can be kind of an optical illusion for those who don't know what they're looking at. It could also be that they're used to porn from the US too.

I wonder who gave me a thumbs down. Probably some stubborn American woman (or an insecure circumcised man) who didn't care to look over my entire answer thoughtfully and with an open mind.

It's totally fine and normal to be uncircumcised. In fact, the majority of men alive on this planet are uncircumcised. Just keep your foreskin clean and you shouldn't have any problems. Bacteria is constantly growing and collecting inside of your foreskin and it needs to be cleaned out every day. Using a penis health creme that contains Vitamin A is really good move too because it will help kill off some of this bacteria. Do these two things and you will be all good. Cheers.

Some men get circumcised today. The number in the US is far smaller than in previous generations. It will be interesting to note if the frequency of circumcision increases with the recent medical report than certain cells in the intact foreskin may actually make it easier for individuals with foreskin to contract HIV.

When men are circumcised it is usually performed during infancy.

I'm 24 and uncircumcised!! and I plan on staying that way, some people say that its easier to keep clean when its done but I have never had a problem with it. then there are religious reasons, and then the moronic muslums will say that men pee up when uncircumcised, but I don't have a problem hitting the toilet or drawing my name in the snow

most European nations have boys circumcised when they are only a few days old, (I saw a video of it on line once and the baby was awake and obviously feeling his most sensitive aria being cut) in the middle east it is usually done as a right of passage into adulthood, done sometime between 13 and 21, still most don't use pain killers

if I thought you were over 18 I would offer to show you what mine looks like, look me up when you turn that age!!

Circumcision is something that is usually done a few days after birth. It is a surgical procedure of the foreskin. Some men did not have this procedure done. It could be done at any age but the older you are the more painful and the longer it will take to heal.

Most men are circumcised as infants (almost all). This is a decision that parents make for many reasons.
I had my son circumcised because all of the adult men in his life had been (in other words, every penis he may have occasion to see in his life) and I didn't want him to think he had a weird penis.
Doctors use to recommend it and claim that it had health benefits but not that is up for debate.
Some religions do this as well. The link below should explain most of this.

No, not all men do it. Here is the US, it is usually done within days of being born. As far as the why, it is supposed to make it more hygienic and easier to ward off infections and such. It was performed in the old testament of the Bible to differentiate the Isrealites (JEWS) from the "ungodly". But this practice was no longer required under the new law in the new testament. Still some people believe and live by the old law, so they continue to be circumcised. I did not mean to get religious on you, but that is where it started.
I hear circumcision wards in hospitals are well payed since you get to keep all the "tips"

No not all men get their foreskin cut off. Most of the time the parents make the decision after the baby is born and then it is removed then. it is also practiced often in the jewish community and is called a bris (spelling?) ANd if they dont then they dont. there is no right or wrong way it is just a personal . . . or parental choice.

Some do, some don't. It started as a jewish tradition and most men in the USA get it done. A lot of european men don't. My fiance is uncircumsized and i like him just the way he is. Some women prefer circumsized. Men have it done when they are babies, although some men do it later in life. If they don't get it done, they just have to be more aware of being clean in that area so they don't get infections.
