In the face of new anti-discrimination legislation shortly to be introduced in UK... that the Catholic Church is threatening the UK Government with closures of it's PUBLICLY FUNDED adoption agencies unless they be given a special exemption to continue to discriminate against homosexual couples when nobody else will be allowed to do so in the provision of goods and services?

Catholic adoption agencies have shown willing to adopt out to gays in Ireland where similar legislation was introduced over five years ago with no problems, Inn Scotland this legislation has already nbeen passed without exemptions, and in UK itself Catholic adoption agencies have for some time been willing to adopt out children to single gays so it is very hard to see the justification for their demand.

Anti-discrimination should mean just that , should religious groups be above the law?

Religious groups are perhaps not fit to run publicly funded welfare services, and is this is just one example, what about homeless shelters and hospitals run by religious groups , if you are of the wrong faith or a homosexual or a woman seeking an abortion or contraceptive advice will you also be turned away?

dont know about the others. but for Christian point of view. according to the bible.

Christian should submit to the government. according to Paul, even a king; he can't not be installed without God's consent. And submitting to God would naturally goes with submitting to the environment God putting us into and these also including laws. That is why, when Peter and Jesus was asked by a tax collector whether they pay taxes. Jesus tell Peter to go fishing and get the first fish he fished and open it up, there will be a coin and use the coin to pay for their tax.

this is a clear example of submission to the government and laws.

To be gay is not accepted in the Bible. They can be accepted as people by the church, but for example the catholic church cannot be forced to marry them, because it goes against the catholic beliefs
