If not, how do they do this. I've heard they take a pill or injection daily but doesnt this also affect their sex life should they be married?

What a horrible answer from Doyle who of course is NOT a Gynae doctor. I can tell you that most women wash and wash again before going to such an appointment! I very much doubt if gynae docs get aroused. Its all in a day's work to them. Mind you, once i had problems and was admitted to hospital and while i was waiting to be seen two young medics came and examined me and asked me all sorts of questions like when did you last have intercourse. I was only 22 and didnt question their authority, but afterwards i reckoned i had been examined just for their fun! This truly did happen. Maybe it wouldnt happen nowadays. Any woman who is concerned about having such an examination should ask for another female to be present.

Like other medical professionals Gynaecologists undergo much study to qualify to do their job. The idea of needing to take a "pill or injection daily" does not ring true. As far as affecting their sex life - hmm - if it did why would they have wanted to become Gynaecologist is the first place?

Professional people are able to differentiate work and personal life. It is not true that Doctors specialise in Gynaecology just because they wish to look at female genitalia all day. That is an urban myth!

I had an experience something like Faith's - only it was my GP and it happened twice. Each time, I had gone about a throat infection and each time he insisted on examining my genitalia to see if the infection had spread there! Then he took out a condom and opened it and asked me if I knew how to use them! I was 23 and completely naive about doctors. I asked to be changed to another doctor, however, after I told my boyfriend who insisted that I should also report him. I didn't, but that doctor is now a media spokesperson and is often on tv.

My current GP will never perform any kind of examination like that without the presence of an 'escort' - the practice nurse or in an emergency, even the medical receptionist - and the hospitals here have the same policy. Apparently this is done as much to protect their reputation as much as for the comfort of the patient.

im not a gynecologist but being an anesthesiologist i work with them, although from my personal experience i sometimes notice if the patient is pretty, its very difficult to get arouse because the circumstances where you see them are not exactly conducive ( harsh light, plenty of people... etc ) furthermore, when you see these " body parts " your analysis of these " parts " are not romantic but rather clinical...

we also maintain an unwritten code that if the patient is female and the doctor is male, a female assistant ( nurse or doctor ) must be present in the same room...

however, im sure you have heard stories of patients being molested, im pretty sure they are the exception rather than the rule, there are some pretty sick minds out there, and im guessing that there has to be some sickos in the health profession as well...

Its their job, its not a sexual thing im sure they just see it as an object that they work with and not something sexual. Its all medical. Its like breast feeding..... there is nothing sexual about that even though breasts are sexy do you see what i mean! The only thing i can say is that if anyone is a gynaecologists wife/girlfriend they must be lucky coz they must know all the in 's and out's of it and would really know how it's gonna turn you on!!!! ha ha

If you worked in a chocolate factory day in day out do think you'd still be aroused by chocolate,Sometimes too much of a good thing can become off putting.Besides,These people are professionals that perform a medical service,Not an interview process for pornographic films.lol.Good question though!

Gynaecologists aren't working in an environment where sex is an issue, they are working in a clinic. Just because people are looking at genitals or breasts all day doesn't mean that they are thinking about sex.
Lots of people work with people of the opposite sex and just get on with their jobs.
If you think about what gynies are actually doing, theres nothing sexy about it any more than looking at mammograms.

They must at least think about the women they deal with on some level. Like hairdressers will say things to you like, "You've got really nice hair, it's in great condition."

Gynaecologists probably have opinions, some maybe have fantasies as well.

My gynecologist is male, and that i believe purely as mushy with him down there as i could with a woman. often times, the nurse practitioner for his place of work has performed my pelvic exams, and her approaches have been comparable to his. As a edge observe, the Nurse Practitioner is a lot greater blunt and upfront with each and every thing and is a tad much less sympathetic than my well-being care expert is. this does not mean i do in comparison to her, although.

I believe a lot of gynaecologists are proffesional at there job and i dont think the majority of them do the job to get aroused. At the end of the day he is a guy you are a woman if he finds you attractive i don't think he will be able to help himself and not be aroused unless he is gay and has no form of interests in women. If he is an hetrosexual male i dont think that he will be able to help himself . the answer to your question in my opinion is yes.
