i have black hair too and last year looked into having my hair stripped, i went to my much trusted hairdresser and it was going to cost way more than £30 but as it was for my hair i didnt care, booked myself an appointment and was ready to go, a couple of days b4 the appointment my hairdresser came to my work and said he had researched further and wasnt happy at doing the procedure as it would cause too much damage, he knows how manic i am about my hair and i took his advice, after all he was going to make money if he had done it, my advice to you is to visit a few salons and see what they say, many hairdressers will just see ££££'s, but any worth their salt will explain what it will do to your hair after a proper consultation, good luck

totally depends on where you go it could range from $50-$500.
From my personal experience (i dyed and re-dyed my hair black for about 2 years+)... Color remover did not work well, and just damaged my hair more and the new color came out all funky on top of the newly stripped hair. If at all possible you should try to grow it out and use semi-permanent dye if you have to cover roots in the meantime. I went to a very experienced salon and what they promised was not what the actual outcome ended up being. & Once you have it done, there's nothing you can do but let it grow out.

At a good hair dressers i think it is about £50. Be careful though my friend had her hair stripped, after being a natural blonde and dying it all different colours it went back blondish with a tint of green! She ended up dying it brown straight after to cover it up!
Oh and make sure they test a little bit of your hair first to see if the solution makes your hair deteriate coz it can make your hair fall out and also can cause the hair to disintigrate the moment you touch it not good! This should really be done 24 hours prior to the appointment.

Dont strip your hair. you will destroy it. Add some highlights gradually and go from there. i did the same thing and I am so happy i did not strip it. You would be surprised what a few highlites can do. Its much better then stripping it completely.
My friend stripped her hair and she ruined it, it was oange, dry and brittle. She had cut it and grow it out all over. Try the highlites...they will have to lift the color and recolor those pieces, but its alot better then your whole head. I did a deep caramel, but you can do any shades of red or caramels. Its not drastic but doesnt make your hair look so black and flat. I reccommend you try this first. Good luck.

I am a hairstylist, and you are looking at corrective color. the only problem with giving you a price, is that we don't know how many times the solution will be put on your hair before the black color lifts. I've processed clients up to three times before removing black tint. I charge $50 for each removal. $50 for the color filler, and $50 for the new base color. Hope this gives you an idea! Good luck! I recommend you purchase a really nice protein conditioner for after the process. I recommend Aveda Damage Remedy Intensive Reconstructor. It is high in protein, and will help neutralize and restore your hair after this process. Good Luck!

Please go to a reputable hairdressing salon for this as hairdressers undergo extensive training for this procedure, it will not strip it back to orginial coulour on your first visit they usually ask you to come back 6 weeks later. Costs about £80-00.

In the UK it's about £30, but that's if it's not a really posh one and just your local one.
