You never get rid of the addiction. You learn to control it by using different methods. The most popular is through Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). They use a 12-step program to help you own your drinking and to recover from it. It is a on-going process and should never be stopped or an alcoholic can start drinking again. It is a very hard thing to do, but it is a disease that can be overcome if the person wants it bad enough and understands that it will take hard work and perseverance.

1st ly U no that Alkohol is bad 4 ur health, 2ndly it not affect only U but Ur whole family n society. So the best way to get rid of it is 1stly U must decided, not only 2 think; 2ndly you must forget alcohol (Temperance), or U slow Ur process i.e Instead of taking 1 bot U can drink only 1/2 a bot. Do not drink it in the morning or while at your work but drink only before going 2 bed. Lastly the most little small word but difficult to say at 1st is "NO" while among your friends. Join an Organization that fight against alkohol or take part in sports or other entertainment. Before I was like you and at present I even qiut smoking (3 months ago).

Pull out the tele book and look up Alcoholics Anonymous in the (white)
Business Pages. Find a group or two near you. Call about 11:50am as you
will likely get someone at some group near you. Keep trying until you do
and GET THE MEETING TIMES. Don't wait until you "feel" like going -- just
GO. Be honest -- introduce yourself and tell them you want to get rid of
alcohol addiction. Stay for the meeting and LISTEN. Then GO EVERY DAY OR TWICE A DAY.....until THINGS BEGIN TO CLEAR UP AND YOU BEGIN TO
MAKE SENSE OUT OF WHAT IS BEING SAID. You will be asked to do little
things you usually don't do-- just KEEP NOTICING how clean and sober some of the people are -- just DO WHAT THOSE PEOPLE ARE DOING

By mental con troll, If you want to stop, stop completely, not by reducing the quantity. If there is a will, there is a way.
Think the + points and - points of consuming alcohol. If - points are more then take a decision of quiting this habit. And Do It.
Always avoid your drinking company, till you can controll yourself.
All the best

Stop. It's hard, truly hard, but you can do it. some people get hypnotized, some people go to AA meetings. i went to some meetings, but now i volunteer at a domestic abuse shelter.
see your doc, talk to him/her, or see a doc at an er if you want anonymity...they are usually very helpful toward helping someone get healthy.
remember, it's hard. for me it's been 1848 days and nights. but i decided i wanted to see my kids grow up without the glow of absolut. i never drank excessively in front of them, but i couln't talk the talk, without walking the walk first.
i still miss it...kinda like a friend from long ago that let me down.
watch "When a Man Loves a Woman", andy garcia/meg ryan, then ask yourself...would you want to be that person?
good luck.

The only way is to completely stop drinking alcohol. Support groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous can be helpful.

DO NOT QUIT IT SUDDENLY. u'll go mad then....
Instead try this........
Everyday, when u pour some alcohol for urself, donot forget to add some clean pebbles along with ice-cubes.
& remember to increase the number of pebbles everyday
(DO remember ...u should drink in the same glass & pour same amount of liquor, not increase amount of it along with pebbles!!!)
Do this everyday........ by the end when u've no space to pour urself some liquor, u wud've surely come out of addiction ...slowly but surely.
Lastly, it is required that u shud BE HONEST WUTH URSELF!!!.
GOOD LUCK!!!

If your are alcohol addicted then you won't be able to quit all at once. al you have to do is that you should slowly reduce the volume of alcohol that you consume. thuis will definitely help you out.

I hate to say this, but stop drinking and NEVER drink again.
This is not an addiction you can have and drink socially after you "get over it."
good luck...
