fine. already we have a problem with corrections in this country. so you would put the prisoners to work. i'm not against that, but the natural progression towards jailing people just to get the labor. factor in the swing towards privatization of the penal system and you have slavery on the horizon.

as a youth our garbage was picked up by trustees, a city function. if done today it's a private corporation, paying union wages. i'd sure like to see the streets get cleaned up around here though. but soon as they started using prisinors some corporation would come along (mayors brother) and get the contract and the cheap labor deal, arrests would go up the week after.

nothing is simple anymore.

I agree with you, but in some States and Counties, there aren't even enough guards to staff a prison, let alone enough guards to guard a bunch of inmates, I know the County I live in has a Community Service program where they have 2 guards guard 12 inmates while they do work around town and in the city, but still most facilities don't have enough staff to do all of that.

i think since they are felons and under government protection and property, i think the one convicted of murder, gang related or horrible crime, they should agree to be depending our country against any war instead of the baby that they are sending over there. at least they have experience and guts to fight, our country could get use to cleaning up the prison. since we almost over populated in the cell, why not ask if other would love to volunteer their energy and effort to fight the terrorist along our soldier, especially the one who is in death row? that will be quite rewarding, just think about their own family, at least they can be represented in such a prideful task.

Well, it depends on what they did. What use do you want from a murderer? Target practice?
