Fears are merely an irrational way of thinking that something that really isn't happening IS happening. It's not always easy to "wish" them away in a matter of seconds; sometimes, it requires some extra help from medical professionals.
Sometimes, we have to take baby steps toward the final solution, so I would advise you to work out these steps for yourself or with the help of a professional.

Between 10 and 11 percent of people have a specific phobia, and approximately 4 percent of the population have arachnophobia. Like other phobias, it manifests itself as a persistent and irrational fear of the phobic stimulus, resulting in avoidance of places and situations associated with the stimulus, and overwhelming anxiety about encountering such a situation. Never knowing when one might encounter a spider may cause impairment in a variety of situations. If you are restricted by arachnophobia, you may benefit from virtual reality therapy. Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) places you in a computer-generated environment where you can be safely exposed to spiders, thereby reducing your anxiety in stages, at your own pace. You wear a head-mounted display with stereo earphones that immerses you in the VR environment by providing you with both visual and auditory cues. In this type of therapy, you will be exposed to a hierarchy of phobic situations designed to reduce your anxiety in gradual increments. This format ensures that anxiety at each level dissipates before you move to the next level. In this way, the connection between the stimulus and the phobic response is dissolved. If an increase in anxiety does occur, you may simply return to a previous stage and repeat it until you are able to progress successfully to the next stage. The entire process lasts 8-12 sessions on average. The graded experience might include: standing across the room from a spider, standing next to a closed jar containing a spider, holding a closed jar containing a spider, holding an open jar containing a spider, touching a spider. These steps are customized for each individual.

I don't know what to tell you. I'm aichmophobic (fear of needles) and I don't know why. Irrational fears usually spring up when something happens to you. Have you had a bad experience. Maybe you were left behind somewhere as a child or something. I recommend you go and talk to someone about it as it is difficult to do it yourself.

I believe you have already identified your fear as being weird, now laugh at it.
There is nothing to fear, but the fear of fear itself, in other words allowing your fear to get the best of you by allowing your mind to entertain the notion of it in a never ending loop is more frightening, then for the fear to be realized, and to simply deal with it.
Since you yourself have identified this fear to be weird, or in other words unrealistic, then it should be most simple for you to dismiss it from your mind by reminding yourself that you are worrying about weird unrealized situations which has not happened, and will most likely not occur, there for the only power your fear has over you is the energy which you put into it.
Once you have realized this simple truth, then you will no longer put your mind energy into contemplating unrealistic what ifs, and you will deal with your reality as it happens, and in a confident manor.
