I have State Farm Auto Insurance. My car has run out of gas. Will they provide Roadside Assistance and bring gas to me?

I work for a State Farm agent. SF does not have a Roadside Assistance Program in the sense that they have a number you call and they send someone to help you. They have an Emergency Road Service Reimbursement coverage. If you have this coverage, you can call any service company for assistance and pay them directly then submit the receipt to your agent for reimbursement. They will pay for the cost of someone to come bring you gas, but the cost of the gas itself will not be reimbursed to you. Hope this helps!

Some automobile manufacturers also offer roadside assistance for their customers, sometimes for free for some period after the purchase of a new vehicle. Crawling around under your car on the side of the highway can be dangerous, besides the fact that it is unsanitary. Having roadside assistance when you have a flat is a lifesaver. Just call the number and within a few minutes, someone will be there to change your tire and get you back on the road.

Ask your agent. Read your policy. Call 1-800 FARM TOW and ask. They won't unless you have roadside assistance on your policy of course, if you do there should be a booklet that tells you what benefits you have.

Check with your agent or policy, but the easiest way to go with RSA is thru your cell phone if they have that option. I have it and it only cost $4 a month with 4 free tows up to 50 miles, and this covers out of gas, flat tire changes, break-down, etc. Try with your agent first and then see what or if your cell provider offers this service. It is one of the best out there. If you have an older car, it is better to have RSA than not, trust me, been there!

Contact your agent and ask them. I used to work for State Farm and when I was there if you had towing coverage on your policy there was coverage for the cost of someone to bring you the gas but not the cost of the gas.
