I owned one for about 10 years, and I must say the large shetland sheepdog i had was a genius. It prevented a few buglares in that span, and the companionship of this dog was unreal.

I think all sheepdogs are among the smartest breeds. I have an Aussie shepherd mix myself, and at two months old she has already learned much of her basic obedience. I've never owned a more easily trainable dog. The first answer mentioned border collies, which of course are also highly intelligent, and statistically the smartest. Shelties, though, being sheepdogs, have got to be up there.

If I had to provide a reaction, i might want to say Poodle, then German Shepherd then the Shetland Sheepdog. notwithstanding, do not ignore that you shouldn't %. a dogs depending on intelligence. you should %. the dogs depending on who you're and what suits with you the most. in case you want some extra help or options, contact me!

If I had to furnish a response, i might say Poodle, then German Shepherd then the Shetland Sheepdog. Nevertheless, keep in intellect that you should not choose a canine centered on intelligence. You will have to prefer the canine founded on who you might be and what suits with you the most. If you need some extra help or recommendations, contact me!

I also had one and she was very bright and a great companion also. I have had many breeds and the shetland is at the top of my list along with blue heeler them Alaskan Malamute. Most working dogs seem to have intelligence and companionship as the best qualities.
