Sounds more like depression than anxiety. With anxiety you would be more high strung and highly irritable, possibly skipping meals and blowing up at people. It sounds like a classic case of depression. It's very common in winter time (That type is called S.A.D., otherwise known as seasonal depression, it is due to a lack of sunlight), or if you are experiencing a lot of stress, or are dealing with a lot of life style changes. It doesn't necessarily mean you have anything permanent, but it is something you should get under control now before it becomes more serious. Contact your Dr. They can start you on a mild antidepressant and set you up with someone who can teach you how to cope with these new feelings. Medication has come a far way since Prozac. There are several SSRI medications, all designed for different symptoms.
Good luck and Good health!

well, i think there are so good answers and some dumb ones. I have panic disorder which is anxiety related and i have depresiion. first of all, anxiety does not make u high strung. anxiety is in many forms. you could have social anxiety if u are a lone and dont want to be around others. also, depression because u are not wanting to do daily htings like hygenine. depression is not an anger thing whoever said that. depression is a result of many things and different for everyone. But alot of time u feel sad or alone dont want to do anything u feel helpless or hopeless about things in your life. I would talk to your doctor about this and maybe have an evaultion from a physclogist. Medication alone wont help you need therphy also. there are many different medciations and not same pill works for everyone. hope this helps.

As all humans suffer with depression at some point in life, it is not normal if it persists. Medication and therapy work wonders. That does not mean you are crazy. I also suffer with depression and anxiety. You can still function. I also believe If you enjoy asking and answering questions on this website, that is a good sign. People who are depressed to a certain point, would never have the energy to come on here. Good luck.

Yes that is a bit of depression. I am guessing that you have nothing in your life that you feel passionate or excited about right now. Try and find some hobbies to do or change your job or plan a cool vacation to someplace exotic with a friend ......start making goals and most of all...help out as a volunteer....it will do wonders for you! Good luck (PS tooth loss is not pretty...go brush right now!...you heard me! NOW! MARCH! Get in that bathroom and brush those choppers!)

Yes it is, sweetie, and you need to get help. There are medications on the market that can alleviate most or even all of your symptoms; but you also need to see a therapist or counselor to address any emotional/psychological issues that might be causing problems as well. Usually it's a combination of things that cause depression and/or anxiety, not just one single thing. Please, for your own sake, pick up a phone and call someone for help with this before you get worse - and it can get much, much worse, as I can tell you from personal experience. Believe me, you do NOT want that!!!

It might be. But I think the best thing for you to do would be to talk with a professional - such as your family doctor or a mental health professional, such as a therapist or psychiatrist. This professional can also help you decide what treatment would best work for you. Because each person responds differently to medicine, they can work with you to decide which drug or combination of drugs would work better for you, and help with the underlying issues as well.

Well depression is like when you feel empty inside, you feel life is not worth living for, you only stare into darkness and you feel something is missing. Anxiety is different, you feel anxious about life, like you have so many things to get done but your mind can't handle it, your mind wonders, you feel so stressed out, you feel like you need a release and you never feel at peace. So, maybe you are experiencing some of these but I have good news! Having faith in Jesus Christ can take all of that away! You feel empty inside because your soul longs for the love of Son of God Jesus. You may not feel at peace because you haven't given your depression and Anxiety to him. Jesus died for your depression and anxiety you may sometimes feel. God loved you so much that he gave up his one and only son to die for your depression and anxiety! My advice to you coming from a man that has already battled though depression and anxiety so I can tell you personally that you need to have a relationship with God and if you want to know what God is like, than get to know Jesus! I encourage you to read a bible in your comfort zone start with the gospel of John! There you will find a story of a man named John the Baptist who paved the way for another man named Jesus that loves you and will give you guidance and hope to your life, if you look to him and follow him for your life's answers! In addition you need a change of atmosphere in your life, get out of your comfort zone and try to meet new people! A lot of Church's have small groups and some even have single groups. So, I would encourage you to do that because it wasn't till I started putting Jesus first before myself that my life started to get better, I had a whole new image of myself and I started to see how much I was really loved and valued in God's eyes.

You have depression and need to see a doctor.
I disagree with Sam's answer. I have taken Zoloft for 2 years and it has been a miracle drug for me. There are some side effects with the meds.

Sounds to me like you may be suffering from minor depression, but I am not a doctor. Best thing I can think of would be for you to go see a doctor. They would know whether or not you really are.

Well everybody lonely does mostly have these habits. You feel like the world does not care for you routines and so do you not. Just try to find some friends or dates or company. If you become engaged with other people more, your situation would be better.
