Marine officers, hah, you are joking. Any citizen with a valid carry permit is allowed to carry a concealed weapon, only not on base. Military personnel dam* well better not take any type of their military issued weapon off base and they better not have it on base in civilian cloths. Who in the world told you this?

Generally the only persons permitted to carry a weapon in public are Military Police Investigations. They are not always officers, but are members of the military and are in the official capacity equal to crime investigators. Navy Criminal Investigations are civilian investigators, while Command Investigators are military personnel.

Not sure about Marines, but I know Army can in civilian if they have their CCW permit. They have to follow the CCW laws. Can't have it in posted places, government buildings like bases or court houses, or place where government officials have meetings.

Might want to contact JAG to find out for sure.

It could possibly be true.

It really all depends on what exactly their job is, and whether they are authorized to carry concealed weapons.

Additionally, they would need to have a permit within the State where they are stationed.
