There are plenty of web sites which will assit you in preparing your taxes on line for free. Just about all of them have income limitations which restrict the "free" part of the prepartion of your return. Here is the address for one site to get you started. Also go to www.IRS.gov they have a wonderful link of providers.http://www.taxnet.com/index.html?otpPartnerID=2403&SID=1478&CID=289729&OfferId=ps_free&omnisource=YHO|CAMP011Competition|ADGP006TaxAct|KWRD010taxact.com

go through the www.irs.gov website where it will give you a listing of different websites available in order to file your taxes for free. I know that for my state though we had to pay 9.95 to do the state but the federal was filed 100% free.

We used the irs.gov website to do ours, it will give you a list of many different sites and options along with which ones are free and the prices.

GOOD LUCK and hope you get a GREAT return!

The closest I've found is www.taxact.com. You can download the software (or upload info through the web) for free. I think they do charge for the state forms and if you decide to use them for e-filing. During the process they will recommend upgrading to the deluxe versions for a fee (ignore it). They don't spam you to death with your email account and I haven't found any errors in their computing yet. I've always used the service, printed the forms and mailed them off. I haven't had any problems in the 4 years I've used them. Good luck!

I was watching a clip online from hrblock because they own the software taxcut. it said to go to irs website and you can file for free there if you make under 52,000 per year. I used taxcut and they take the money out of your return if you dont have the cash up front.
