Just ignore it, they'll forget all about it.

Small towns especially love giving tickets to out of state vehicle, particularly trucks. It's easy income.
Unfortunately, in order to fight it you will probably have to show up there in court, unless you can get a lawyer to do it for you.

First, look up the law that you were cited for and see exactly what it says.

It should be relatively easy to prove the route you were taking based on company paperwork.

Good Luck

I understand your frustration. My husband is a long haul trucker and has had several B.S. tickets. We always pay them because we can never be sure if we are going to be there for a court date to try and fight it. Just today we did fight a ticket for an improper lane change and actually won. What a shock. When we know we cannot make it we pay it because if not it will catch up with you. Unfortunately it seems like they know most of us cannot be there to argue our case so it is easy for them to fine us., or it sure feels like it. Just keep your head up. Drive safe.

I would recommend you go to court and tell the judge it is a B.S. ticket and the cop just hummed you. I am sure that the judge has never heard that before.... just pay the ticket!

Talk to your employer and tell them your side of the story. You'll probably have to show up to your court date and tell the judge your side of this as well if you really want to beat it. It does sound like a small town scam. Go for it.

I see no way of you winning this case. Cut your loses and just pay the ticket, and learn from this misfortune.
