Boy, I'm not certain, cuz its been a little over 16 years since i was at Cape May, and 6 years since I got out.
Back then, and as far as I know the system has not changed much, you should end up in the same Boot camp company.
However, they may have you inthe same class, but different companies and if either one of you get picked for the ceremonial detail, that will not ensure the other can go.
As far as after boot camp, when I was in, and as long as I can remember, you picked duty stations based on your graduation ranks of your entire class. And normally, with the exception of maybe 1 or 2 cutters (and the rare larger Station billets) most units would only be requiring 1 "boot" for assignment.

Ultimately the answer lies with your recruiter, and if he says you guys will, I hope he can be trusted (not all are liuars, but theres a precedent)

Also, in my opinion. Its a nice idea, and comforting to join with a friend, but I know for a fact, it'll bring attention on you two in boot camp and at your 1st assignment, and attention is not always good.

The last bit of rambling advice I have is what rates both of you are looking for? I ask this, because depending onthe jobs each of you want to do, you may have interest in totally different duty stations, and that first duty station is uber important.

They will tell you that you can, but in reality, they can do whatever they want. My brother did this and he and his buddy were split up immediately. They have never been stationed together at all and it has been over 6 years. In fact, they are currently stationed one on the east coast and one on the west coast.

No, not necessarily!
I went in the Navy under the "Buddy System" and the ONLY place we were together was bootcamp!
Never saw him again after that!
