admiting you have a problem is the first and hardest step, so, bravo! i suggest you take stock of your strength and weaknesses. write down all the training that you have had, ie, your qualifications and work experience. then write down what you want to achieve. write down also what you're afraid of, what is holding you back. then resolve to start dealing with them. in the meantime, start looking at (and applying to) want ads that match your experience, qualifications and goals. talk to friends, they might know of jobs out there and suitable for you. it won't be easy, you might not find a job quickly, but at least tell yourself you've identified your problems and you're, hopefully, taking steps to deal with them. if all else fails, perhaps you need to talk to a professional to help. good luck!

forget about having no job and set a goal to apply for some jobs each week like this week 2 next week 3 or 4 and by no time you will have a job don't get down on yourself and the motivation is in you

No offense or anything but you shouldn't have to hve a whole lot of motivation to better yourself. I think most people feel better when they are making money and being independent than they do always relying on others and depending on them at all times.... Try and find a job that interest you a lot and it will help... I love my job and that makes me want to get up and go every morning!

I feel for you because I, too, am going through a simular situation. The job search process takes a lot of strength and self-confidence to go through. You can't be afraid of rejection and you can't leave any stone unturned. I have only been out of work a short time, but I had one interview already and I didn't get the job.It is a tough process to go through, but it has to be done. You and your family depend on it.Just believe in yourself, put yourself out there, and I guarantee it one day the phone will ring and you'll be out there working again.

Don't worry on the time which has been spent, think about the future. Start from where you are with what you have without further wasting your time. you will catch-up, once you finish your dead lines be happy that you completed them at a faster rate compared to others as you took less time than others, but if this continues in your life you will miss many opportunities as to conquer this world you should be in right place in right time, late has got no meaning in this information age.

Nothing is wrong with you. It is normal to feel that way, you just need to force yourself to do it even though you really dont want to or feel like it, get someone else to nag you if absolutly nessecary.
We all have issues with motivating ourselves for stuff like this because work sucks.

Maybe your mortgage/rent and other bills would be enough of a motivator? Or you could just think of how wonderful it is to have money to spend?
