I sent a very revealing letter to my boyfriend who is in the military and now I'm regretting it. He's not out and we want to keep it that way.

Of course it is. Think about it. Do you want some Islamic idiot in the US sending death threats or telling him/her how great his honey is in bed, to our soldiers?

I spent 6 months in Iraq with the Marine Corps and the only mail that get's searched is 1 out of every 15 or so packages and it is screened by US customs somewhere in Germany. As they dothe same to regular civilians in the USA who receive packages from out of country it is screened by customs but no your letters do not get screened I assure you.

It's a letter. My husband has mailed me two packages and they check what he sends just in case he tries to send ammo back to the US. If something has happened with one of the other soldiers' mail, they'll start getting more strict about it. Next time just email it if it's pictures.

Incoming letters are not screened. The military is required to follow the same postal laws and regulations as everybody else. Packages (incoming and outgoing) are randomly inspected by customs however.

k your picture might not be put up on the board.. cuz if i read the question right.. they typically reserve that for T&A.. so no problem there really.. but im sure they read mail before it gets sent out.. i dont know if they would read incoming mail.. i just dont see how incoming mail unless it carried some powder or something.. i dont see how it would be harmful..

all the luck and hope it goes well

Big mistake. Within 10 minutes after he opens the letter, your picture(s) will be on the barracks bulletin board...
